My old Mavic Pro was stolen from in front of me just few days ago. I was hoping to sell it and upgrade to newer DJI drone. So had to buy used Mavic Zoom and I'm very happy with it. Quality drone.

What is the minimum distance that the drone needs to be from the object you want to dolly zoom?

I tried this today it only lasted 4 seconds

That feature is not on the mavic air 2. That the mavic zoom. We can do the dolly zoom on the ma2 but you have to do it manually.

I was using Dolly Zoom the other day up on the mountain .. But when I engaged the flight mode it seemed to fly TOWARD the object highlighted, not AWAY from it. Is there an option in there somewhere to chose forward or backward flight while filming the dolly zoom?

Dolly zoom effect changes the manual exposure settings and color profile that you are currently using. For example, if you are filming in log or cinelike and you enable dolly zoom, it switches back to the standard color profile. Same with exposure, if you’re in manual mode 1/120th and you enable dolly zoom, it will go back to auto mode, and you need to compensate by using the exposure/+-ev setting on be remote.

Edit: if you’re in 4k or 2.7k, the “auto” dolly zoom will kick you out to 1080p. You can achieve the same effect in 4k and 2.7k by just using the dial manually.
