Got any Star Wars movie trivia to share? I’d love to hear it.
ОтветитьHarrison Ford passed his Diplomacy Check like a true professional at the end there.
Ответитьi hate video essays
Ответитьthis is a high quality content for which I love this platform and it's creators, thank you ❤
Ответитьthis is a very good documentary which breaks the 4th wall.
I get to watch a documentary within a documentary where director perfectly cuts and narrates THE OTHER DIRECTOR
how fancy and cool is that hey ?
The first time I watched The Empire Strikes Back, I felt nothing. It felt very classic and cliché to me. A few years later, when I watched it again, I realized I felt that way because the movie was so well made. The original trilogy doesn't try to ask deep philosophical questions or subvert viewers' expectations. It uses already established storytelling formulas from ancient legends, but executes them perfectly, something a surprising number of blockbuster films fail to do.
ОтветитьThe sequels do not exist in my mind. Rogue One does and Clone Wars animated. But sequels are legends. Period.
Ответить23y
ОтветитьStar Wars used to kick ass.... Now everything sucks.
ОтветитьId tell disney to take notes, but the beaten horse has already decomposed completely. I got the OG trilogy and nothing else exists in my mind. Same with Indiana jones, LOTR, alien, etc, etc
ОтветитьI'm of an age, that privileged me to see the original film in 1977, then The Empire strikes back, which is not only my favourite Star Wars movie, but my favourite movie ever. However, the third film for me after the brilliance of the first two, and especially TESB, was total dog sh💩t. I hated it when I saw it opening weekend in 1983, and I hate it still. A shame really, because it would ha e been a perfect trilogy otherwise. My opinion is shared by many, albeit less harsh. But people do say its the weakest of the three movies
ОтветитьCorrection, star wars was never good
Ответитьur talking overlay is super annoying lol
ОтветитьYour video came out prior to its release, but Star Wars did get better: Andor. It's the best it has ever been, and is easily some of the best television (I realize you're running CINEMA Stix) ever created. It feels like a series of films in 3 or 4 parts, even though it's serialized into 12 episodes. It is literally the only show post-2000 which I have watched multiple times for the pure enjoyment of it.
ОтветитьSeriously. Can a movie get any better than this?
ОтветитьNothing is more compelling than incest.
ОтветитьEmpire wasn't really an action movie except for the Hoth battle. It was a story movie that had some action in it. And if I'm not wrong I think Spielberg helped with the Hoth scenes.
ОтветитьYoda's monologue on the Force was the absolute high water mark for star wars. The best it ever got and the best it will ever be.
ОтветитьStar Wars garnered so much attention, it became impossible to make the movie without all the secrets being exposed months or years before the film was finished.
The Science of protecting film scripts is what interfered with every production after Episode IV. The latter studio got confused and started changing it's own stories mid-produxtion due to audience reactions to films which were not even made.
Diversity hires ruined Star Wars.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video, but I'm really not sure why you called it a video essay.
ОтветитьStar Wars is fantasy. Andor is sci-fi.
Ответитьthe 5'11 George Lucas vs the 6' Irvin Kershner
ОтветитьTheyre movies! Everyone got that back then.
ОтветитьThis gets me teary eyed, it just works!
ОтветитьProps to the prop guy.
ОтветитьThe cost to do anything was such a scam! $100,000 for moving parts lol
ОтветитьWow. Remember when Star Wars was good. Before the dark days of Disney?
ОтветитьBut, it did
ОтветитьThis was pre, “ put a chick in it! Maker gay, make it lame! “. Pre woke Dei bullshit, pre Kathleen Kennedy! Now the last 3 “ the force is female” they just suck!
ОтветитьLook for Jerry Lewis interview about cast and crew versus executive producers. He said it was a team effort to make it work versus egos that think they don't have the intelligence or knowledge to do it.
ОтветитьI’ll summarize it like this…
What’s the relationship between George and Irvin? Acknowledging each others’ direction skill.
What’s the relationship between JJ and Rian? Two kids fighting over building a sand castle.
I remember being devastated as a kid after the original trilogy, hearing the rumor that George Lucas had said that was it for Star Wars and the story would not continue in the future. It’s hard to explain the impact those movies had on fans like me and there were millions of us. It wasn’t just a cultural phenomenon or a passing fad. You would think about it with fond nostalgia and endlessly play characters and play with the toys and joyously consume anything that was licensed by Lucas Films no matter what it was. It became and always will be apart of who we are and our imaginations and although I haven’t liked the prequels and sequels as much I still love them as they are apart of the Star Wars universe and I’m so happy future generations have grown to love them as much as the older generations did. It’s apart of World Culture and when studied by people after the current generations have passed away, I believe it will be considered by historians as The single largest cultural phenomenon of that era of 50 or so years now. It’s way beyond a movie or series of movies.
Ответитьjust let Kershner speak without talking over him
ОтветитьHarrison Ford, that guy still kills me
ОтветитьLucas made the right call having someone else direct. A new hope was in many was the start of a new era, but it was lightning in a bottle and he knew he couldn't do it twice. It became evident when he picked up the mantle making the prequels. Even at that time he lost his ability to make a good script. "I hate sand, it gets everywhere"
ОтветитьEmpire is one of those perfect movies
Ответить...and you can literally destroy a franchise with one person who thrusts themselves into the franchise in the franchise because of their ego and arrogance in the form of Ray who is really Kathleen Kennedy...and so the death of Star Wars is complete.
ОтветитьThe Empire Strikes Back is still my favorite out of all them. Disney ruined Star Wars. Disney use to have Mickey Mouse waving a Magic Wand before the films would starts playing. Well those guys Back in the 70s truly captured pure cinematography magic and Disney snuffed it out. What a shame
ОтветитьRevenge of the sith TCW season 7 and Andor are better
ОтветитьI would have been fine with them just having the original Star Wars film and never making another one, but the original trilogy are the only films worth watching in the now massive franchise. At this point it's just a way for studios with no creativity to cash in on brain dead fans.
ОтветитьI laughed a lot at your edit. It was a video, and you put some work in to make it.
ОтветитьThis doesn’t stop me from loving the prequels and sequels just as much as the originals, sometimes more because they get so much hate.
ОтветитьGod, I'd give all my money if I could watch the theatrical releases of the original trilogy.
I will hate Lucas forever.
Such a great trilogy that we are not allowed to see.
Harrison Ford has such a quick and underrated wit lol
ОтветитьWow I love intuitive improvised everything hehe. Ya, why rely on electronics when it's theatre and puppetry that originally entertained all, before movies ^_^
ОтветитьI think revenge of the Sith is almost as good
ОтветитьJust listen to Kirshners voice, he sounds just like Ray Romano.
