Nintendo Switch OLED vs. Switch Lite vs Switch(2019)

Got the oled switch for about $375 last year and I can say it works great, Its a really comfy gaming experience and I am glad i got the switch and not the ps4

I love the that the switch can do both and for me that’s what I want my switch to do. I have all models of the switch except the revised v2 (I have the v1). I use my switch lite for out of town visits and my oled is the most used bcuz I love that I can play on a large screen and then when I want to relax somewhere else I can undock it and play it there. Nintendos next iteration has to be a switch like console or I don’t think it will sell as well as the og switch.

I have both and tbh I like my switch lite a lil more, I like on my OG one I can dock it and undock it but I also like how much smaller and easier the lite is for me.

I've had the day one switch since 2017 and just got a great deal on a used OLED for $250 so I had to get it, and I just bought a lite on ebay for $130 for on the go or playing in bed😅

I just got the regular switch, im not thinking that hard about something I'm gonna replace soon for a steamdeck

Tbh...just get an original switch. Sure it's more expensive than switch lite but its cheaper than oled, the battery can last up to 9 hours & you can take off the joy cons! But you can make the choice. Im just saying this just for the heck of it

I have both , I loved my lite not only for the price but cause I thought it was really good for portable for my last portable game being a ds but that was untill I FINALLY got my hands on a oled & I LOVE it. I plan to mostly use it on portable cause my bf uses the tv on the ps4. I really wanted a better screen, I LOVE the better display & better battery life. I also love having the option to use it differently. If you can afford a lite & oled, get both IMO.

I bought the OLED, beautiful screen but it became very uncomfortable to hold..maybe because I have small hands lol anywho I exchanged the OLED for the Lite today and so far it's been a more comfortable experience.

Thanks mate, yeah I think I'll go for OLED instead of LITE. I really like LITE more than OLED just like him, I don't care about battery or Screen. BUT it does feels good when my arms are tired holding the Switch I simply use the kick stand and detach the controllers.
PLUS I can play on TV and able to play with my family once a while.

BUT it does a lot for me, yes for Americans or people who use better currency that extra 150$ might be small for you, me that's is around 400-600. I have to saved up money every month to get that SWITCH I wanted.

If handheld im using nsw lite but if on tv playstation for sure not buying oled

as long as the Lite can play BoTW, NieR: Automata, Astral Chain, and the like... im all for it

Since i share my oled with my brother, the switch lite great for backup console for yourself or another family member. I just hope a new switch lite doesnt come out after i bought this one. Im glad the screen is bigger than older handhelds and i do play in handheld a lot since i got the switch. Few friends and coworkers often told me to get this and now getting it and hope its as good as they suggest.

Hi there, I’m stuck. I have both OLED switch and the lite. I’m not into gaming as much as I should but I took the switch lite away with me last weekend and it was such a nice experience. I love the lite but I do love playing games on the tv. So still deciding on which switch is for me. I love both but not sure which to pick. I find the lite was comfortable to hold while playing and the buttons feel better. But again I love playing on the tv because I can use the pro controller and we’ll switch joy cons.

Another great video from you, man. As someone who's owned every Switch, I'm currently rocking the Switch Lite. I loved the big beautiful display on the OLED, but the stiff joy con buttons were immediately uncomfortable for me and I could never get used to them, and that led me down a path of finding a more comfortable joy con alternative like the Hori Split Pad Pro, which was another $50--and I wasn't happy with that either.

So that's something to factor into the price as well: the added cost of buying joy con replacements or a Pro controller if you find yourself similarly in pain. With the Lite I don't really have that issue unless I play longer sessions. The buttons are much better.

My wife and I just had the conversation of getting our son a switch OLED or switch lite for Christmas. We have 1 TV in the house and that has my PS5 on it. So for us getting the OLED would mean buying a new tv lol. We decided on the switch lite. Plus the price difference let’s us get him a case, headphones, screen protector, and two games instead of one. He is 8 and I think he will absolutely love the switch lite.

Honestly people don’t realize how convenient it is to actually “switch” between the tv and then just go straight to your room while someone is watching tv or something, it’s pretty cool

I bought Nintendo switch oled because I was concern about buttons drifting. And to be honest with you I regret for not getting switch lite . One thing I noticed after playing for 10 min or more you will feel pain in your hands . It is almost half a kilo and because it is wider , you feel the weight more .
Now I play my switch with remote joystick. My advice if you are looking for something portable then size does matter , don’t get deceive about oled screen or tv display . If you want great graphics then get Xbox S or ps4 at the first place .

I want an oled switch because I want to use 4k on my 4k tv, with that being said if I can get just the dock and it allows my V1 to be safely wired and gives me a resolution bump I’ll just buy the dock separately for now

I just picked up the Switch Lite and I am hoping it was not a mistake picking it over the regular Switch. The Switch Lite is cheaper and that is important to me, and to be honest there are no regular or OLED Switches in my area right now. The Lite is a little small for my hands but I don’t think the OLED would necessarily be any easier to hold

OLED is a sign of the end of the switch, when Nintendo releases a new version of an existing portable it's on borrowed time.

The smaller screen doesn’t bother me at all. I have The Borderlands Collection on my PS4 and on my Switch Lite and for some reason I’d rather play the game on my Switch Lite. I think it’s because you feel more in the game when your playing handheld over staring at a large TV screen.

If I'm just going to use it to play pokemon arceus and animal crossing, which switch would be best? I like the bigger screen of the oled, but like the feel and non wobbling controllers of the lite.

I think alot of these videos are missin out on the fact that Facebook marketplace exists. I found a basically brand new animal crossing switch with box, no scratches on the screen and perfect joycon for 225$ cash. Some people buy switches and use them for like 5 hours total then sell them. Scoop these deals up people they are put there

Switch Lite is the superior handheld console! I choose hand comfort & soft touch buttons over crisp buttons and vivid screen. I have both V2 and lite but choose to sell my V2 w/ skull and co grip due to hand cramps when using it handheld. I'm waiting for the release of Switch lite OLED.

I’m a hybrid player. There’s nothing more satisfying than playing in front of the tv for a bit and then taking the console to my bed when I’m tired of the couch.

I am upgrading from the OG switch to the OLED. For my old eyes, that small bump in screen size means a lot.

I upgrade my Switch OG (Gen1) to Switch Oled.... really worth the upgrade.... Double Battery Life, Nice Beautiful Screen, and awesome Sound.... the only bad thing that i can find in the switch oled is, my left joycon is abit loose and can move abit up and down on the rails.... cause my 1 Gen switch totally feels tight and no loose joycons...

I do the same thing, I’ll game in mobile mode for the most part and give my tv up for a show or someone else gaming on it, I will however game in docked mode from time to time especially for a game I’m hooked on or a party game.

I just ordered a Lite. It’s $195 instead of $500 for the OLED in my area and I’m gonna use it 99% handheld anyway. Sure it’s a bummer not being able to have it big screen when playing Witcher 3 or BOTW but it just fits my playing style much better. I’m just gonna use it like I use my 3DS.

The $50 dollars may not be a big deal between the Switch and Switch Oled, but you have to know that these features, Oled screen especially, should have been on the very first Switch to begin with! The PlayStation Vita had Oled back in 2012-2013. Nintendo is way behind with Oled. Nintendo could have added the built in Ethernet port, they could have made the stand that wide to begin with. All minor upgrades for 2020 and on. Nintendo always makes a thousand iteration of their consoles. Take a look at the DS line. At this time, consumers should have a 4K Switch.
