Galaxy S23/S23 Ultra: How to Set Different Notification Sound For Each Separate App

Hopefully someone can help me here, I'm trying to change the notification sound for the messages app and I go into the settings and change it to the sound I want. But when I receive a txt message it still uses the default notification sound. Just got the s23 ultra today and not being able to tell the difference in my notifications is killing me.

I wanted to get away from Samsung until I realized that my 11th finger, the bluetooth S-Pen is exclusive to Samsung phones. Yeah, I'm quite addicted to the damn thing & can't imagine life without it. I naively assumed all brands had models that came with a bluetooth S-pen. Anyway, the reason being that I wanted to kick Sam to the curb is that I've grown so sick of Samsung's half-assed software/apps that are too restrictive, frequently doesn't work well with many apps that work fine on other Androids & ALL of their apps seem incomplete with many very obvious settings or options missing & just about any time they make changes it's fking stupid, asinine sht like this! WHY! Is everyone that works at Samsung drunk & developmentally disabled? Any app, feature, setting they have, if you like it at all, don't get attached to it because Samsung will either quickly remove it completely & if not, they'll find a way to completely ruin it (edge lighting is a great example) or make it a completely unnecessary nuisance like this. I swear, if I ever got the chance to meet the people at Samsung who make all of these retarded fckng decisions I would kick every one of em in the balls & if any of those people happen to be without balls they'd still receive a brutal kick in the same place. This sht's fckng ridiculous! If it weren't for apps like Nova Launcher Prime I wouldn't be able to do Samsung at all. S-Pen is great but not that great. 🤬

CONTACTS, can I do this for my different contacts if so how? I just got my new phone yesterday and it is a real pain in the butt resetting up. I'm passed that I no longer see my call history or voice mail history either 😢

Can I change the vibration for each app? I always used to have 1 long vibrate and then 2 short ones for notifications by default on my previous phones...

Your videos are fabulous. But what I learned is- I need to set aside 2 hours to review your videos, and make changes, then re-review your videos to make more changes. Goood GRAVY! They made this harder than it should be!

Hello. if you can help me I did a factory reset, I changed the melody only for SMS in the notifications, but all programs received this melody. Now I go into all the programs one by one and change the tunes. Such a thing has never happened. What did I do wrong? thanks

Thanks for this! I legit thought there isn't a setting to set custom notification sounds for each app. Turns out it's hidden deep in the apps and it's not intuitive for the user to know because of the design.

Is there a way to set a vibration pattern by contact? My S9 had this ability using an app called Textra, but it has been disabled in the S23+. Is there a native message app that allows vibrations to be customized by contact? This is a very basic function and I'm just not finding how to do it.

These are not custom sounds.

A custom sound/notification is a sound that the user downloaded. What happened to the user being about add their created or downloaded sound?

The video here just shows you how to add change the sounds that are already built in to the device.

I can change this way any app in my list except" MESSAGES", always have sound in "sound and vibration" I set, even if I set individual in app. Who has the same problem?

Every notification is set to the Samsung default tone. How to I get each app back to there original default tone??? Example. Snapchat is set to the Samsung default sound not the snapchat apps default sound. The apps default sound is not in the menu from this video
