Radeon RX 7900 XTX vs. GeForce RTX 4080, 50+ Game Benchmark @ 1440p & 4K

The fact is, with RT, you need upscaling to get 4k. Thats life right now.

Still using 5700xt than I bought for 400+£ and more than happy. Getting decent fps in all games. Playing mostly Rust, Tarkov, Apex Legends sometimes. No problem at all. Upgraded my CPU from 3700 to 5800, for productivity jobs. Photoshop, premier pro and other programs working fine with no problems. The only thing is, Im jumping into graphic design and want to use Stable defusion on PC and AMD sucks sooo badly with even top graphic card, so Nvidia will probably be my next choice. I fill like miracles like 5700xt gone

Considering how much of an uplift the 6XXX series got over the years, I'm genuinely excited to see the end of each generation.

So If I want to get as much FPS as possible in 2K and low/competitive settings I would go for 7900 XTX cause it has similar performance for 80% the cost?

All I am saying is, I paid $1090.99 for a 6800xt at Microcenter in the USA during the shortage months of the pandemic,and at one point it's price went up to $1450, also at Microcenter and most retailers. Mind you these were not eBay resellers 😢😢. Will not upgrade to another video card again until I see 7900xtx performance for around $600. I am firm in my decision 😅😅

We never got a price cut deep enough to make me want to buy either of these cards. I was hoping to upgrade and give 4k gaming a try. I guess AMD and Nvidia don't want me to buy a graphics card this generation.

you have a larger bottleneck for the 7900 xtx which reduces performance by 8 to 10% compared to the rtx 4080 so all the data is bad

Hi there. I am currently planning to upgrade my RTX 3060ti card with Radeon 7900 Aorus Elite XTX but nowhere I can't find answer to this question... Is there a way to turn that annoying flashing led lights into one constant light? I hardly doubt that I'll like something constantly flashing next to my head when I playing games or working. :) Many thanks.

Amd can't even play Witcher 3 at a reasonable FPS yet at 4k 💀💀 really wish they would catch up because NV really robing us now! Can't even use 2 GPUs anymore........

Radeon is more future proof. All new games will need more and more memory and then difference will be much more visible in favor of Radeon XTX.

hardware unboxed - im running amd 5900x and 3080. would i bottleneck a 4090 with that cpu? if yes, how much?

why do people compare these two cards? dollar for dollar the 7900xtx is aligned almost perfectly with the 4070ti not the 4080, in fact, the 4080 is between 400 and 600 bucks more when comparing cards that can actually be purchased in store. meaning that the 4080 is terrible value, well its not value at all. and at the same price point of a 7900xtx the 4070ti is even worse value. there is absolutely nothing redeeming about Nvidia cards now, and the 4090 is even embarrassing if you compare the % differential in performance with the 7900xtx vs the price difference.

im honestly still not sold on ray tracing with the current hardware. i feel like i will wait until the ps6 comes out before i decide to upprade my gpu for a ray tracing card. DLSS 3.5 makes it more worthwhile but I am more hyped about simple graphics fidelity from textures. And with FSR 3 coming out soon, it closes the performance gap

I have an AORUS case mid tower and I have 10-20mm gap between the cpu cooler fans and the end of the RX 7900XTX. I wouldn't be able to install the 4080 by the looks of things without completely altering my install. Plus it's a 4K beast apart from some ray tracing. Counting on FSR 3.0 to make up the difference for the odd titles that need it.

The zotac 4080 is now at the same price of some 7900xtx

The sad thing is, there will never be another 1080ti kind of card, one that impacts the whole system of gpus and still manages to hold up 5+ years later

Gsync is better that’s why I choose Nvidia over AMD. But for CPU I use AMD.

7 months later and the prices haven't budged. Im perpetually blackpilled by the gpu industry.

Crazy to think others are saying a 4080/4090 is a waste for anything but 4K when you can only just run good frames at 1440 max settings. I hate running anything at 100% so even with this I'd have to turn down some settings...

Sadly the 7900xtx just cant hang with the 4080 when it comes to VR gaming, which ultimately made my decision for me.

Do those new AMD GPUs support the physx technology in older games or the hairworks technology? I'm planning to switch from Nvidia GTX 1060 to 7900 xtx and I don't want to loose those features in for example Batman games or Mirror's Edge
