These people make these propaganda piece about the Wunderwaffen of the SS when every military historian worth their salt will tell you that their shit mostly sucked. Nazi germany spend large amount or ressources, time, and lives to develop megalomaniac weapons. The biggest tank, the largest gun everyone being set up as this lynchpin for victory in europe while bothe the USSR and the USA hammered away at their dwindling lines with cheap, mass produced equipment. Most tigers broke down before they saw combat, the V1 did basically nothing but make some Londoners uneasy, the V2 killed more slave laborers making it than anyone else. While they dreamed up giant bombers and underwater tanks the average rifle man on the easter front had no warm clothing or food. The nazis have achieved nothing except the beaucratisation and industrialisation of mass cruelty and murder, something genocidal maniacs around the globe look for in inspiration. But were they the first? No, Hitler famously based the Holocaust on manifest destiny and the armenian genocide but talk about these things would mean to come to grips with the fact that the Nazis werent some mystical superhuman people that existed once and never again and that instead their cruelty persist and their legacy is continued in this very moment I am writing this comment. In Palestine, in Armenia, Rojava and all over the earth supported by the most poweful nations on the planet.

Yeah, Nazi super weapons, super heavy tanks that were barely mobile, air turbulence guns that did not work, even bigger tanks that were even less mobile, giant war ships they never had the resources for even pre war.

This isnt to discredit your point about how ego-driven the Nazis were, but I do want to mention that a lot of modern day military technology and tactics were being developed during the course of the two World Wars. Like, the first World War saw the invention and implementation of tanks, mustard gas, and flamethrowers just to name a few things. Therefore, these "Looney Tunes tactics" as you mentioned probably would've been effective against any army during that period of time because it hadnt really been done before. These same strategists that tricked the Nazis with basically blow-up dolls also got totally wrecked by what were essentially Vietnamese farmers and their glorified bear traps.

War is hell, period.

Its also worth noting that Hitler and his generals were really cunning strategists, but Hitler himself also had an addiction to meth that slowly crippled his decision making throughout the course of the war. Thats not to say we couldnt have beaten the Nazis otherwise, but it probably would've dragged the war on for much longer than we would've liked, and its debatable that we probably would've had to resort to nuking Nazi Germany as well after Japan was dealt with (which we should be grateful that that wasn't the case, it would've negatively effected a majority of Eastern Europe). Although, its equally likely that the threat of nuclear armageddon would've forced the Nazis to surrender as well, just as it did to Imperial Japan (which consisted of soldiers with a much stronger will). So its a bit hard to quantify how strong our "Looney Tunes tactics" would've been against Nazi Germany during that period of the war otherwise, although I personally believe that they still probably would've gotten tricked by the blow-up dolls.

God I used to watch these shows all the time and this deep dive really took me back. The Writer's Strike really changed tv as a whole, created reality tv shows, and has ruined society in the most memeable way possible.
