10 x 6 = 60 so 60 - 6 = 54 and so 9 x 6 = 54

When you multiply a number times 9, just subtract 1 from that number, then add the difference to make 9.

Example: 9 x 2 = ?

What's 1 less than 2?

9 x 2 = ?
1

The answer is 1, therefore 1 is the first part of your answer.

9 x 2 = 1(?)

1 plus what number equals 9?

9 x 2 = ?
1 + ? = 9
8

The answer is 8, because 1 + 8 = 9. Therefore, you have the final part of your answer.

Answer: 9 x 2 = 18 ✔
