If movie critics really enjoy a foreign film from that country is there any chance it may be released nationwide in the United States?

How many countries produce English-speaking films if a movie critics enjoy the film maybe they could be released nationwide in the United States and Oscar winning international films has never been released nationwide

Hollywood is dying anyways. Just the same white actors and white actresses. Netflix has plenty of foreign TV series and foreign movies with a diverse group of people from all backgrounds or people of that particular race and ethnicity

Movie theaters are the best way for the people who make movies to test their creativity skills and decide if all their effort they put into the movie was actually worth it. For example if you're planning on making a sequel to your latest movie the theater box office results will determine the likelihood of that ever happening. If it succeeds and audiences love it then the sequel will be greenlit. If it flops and audiences hate it there's probably no hope for a sequel because you'll just be wasting time and money working on something that nobody is interested in paying to go see.

Once I became an adult, Cinema’s became nothing more than necessary evil I have to use if want to watch a new film. These days, I only go if there’s a film I really want to watch and if I could watch it any other way I’d never go.

Going to the cinema certainly is an experience, but not one I enjoy. Better sound etc doesn’t make a bad film good and I don’t want to sit in a big room with lots of other people, listening to them eat, slurp, cough, and talk all the way through. I’d happily pay more money than the cost of a cinema ticket to watch the latest & greatest at home.

Screens at home are getting bigger and sound systems are getting more sophisticated. If I can get an immersive experience at home without having to sit with a crowd and listen to their annoying popcorn chewing sounds, then why would I go to a theatre. It’s about time when the movie theatres have to go next level to significantly elevate the experiences of a movie.

My favorite memori3s watching movies was the anticipation of seeing a movie in the theater. The shared experience and emotions that movies elicit. Nothing can replace the alure of theater movies.

I haven't been to the movies since August 2015. I was born in 2000 and my whole life, I never enjoyed the movies. I always found it easier to enjoy movies at home than in the theater. I went to the movies when I was in Kindergarten in April 2006 and I didn't even like it back then. Since 2015, if I wanted to see a new movie, I would wait for it to be released because I knew I would enjoy it more than at the movies. To each their own.

I said goodbye to theaters last year. Audience members can be loud and disruptive, I've been done with risking that when I could just buy the movie on Blu ray and watch it uninterrupted in my own home.

Now days (2023) my roommate and I will mostly go see movies that DON'T have sequels, reboots or remakes.
We look at reviews and decide if it worth our time and money to go see a movie in theaters on the 2nd weekend or to just wait for it to stream.
So far, we have seen M3GAN, SMILE, Evil Dead Rise, Renfield and Prey.

Every experience has been awesome. SMILE had a packed theater on it's 2nd weekend! Studios need to keep giving us ORIGINAL content because every one is burnt out on every thing else.

Movies are no longer special. So many platforms and so many movies have dulled the movie theatre experience. People are just as happy to watch a movie on a 65 inch monitor or even on a cellphone. Growing up my movie experience was on a 50 foot wide screen with a thousand behaved audience members having a shared moment in time.
Ask if they've ever seen a road show presentation of a movie, they won't know what you're talking about.

In Finland, movie theaters rebranded their service as a high-level and luxurious special experience that can only be experienced exclusively in theaters, and to maintain this illusion, they doubled the ticket prices, shortened the window of international movies to one month and and started scripting their commercials so that customers would feel FOMO if they didn't come to the movies.

Cinemas do have a BIG advantage, they will 100% keep forever. You will get a far better audio and viewing experience than in average Joes living room. To replicate what you get to experience in the cinema for a couple bucks, you would need to spend a whole fortune to build it at home to then realise that you spent a whole fortune on something that doesnt earn you money and still lacks behind what a cinema can offer as technology progresses. Seeing the biggest and greatest movies on your TV at home vs seeing them in the cinema, which was carefull designed to just show you movies in the best possible way is a big difference. Just make sure you get seats in the middle - I also do kinda wish cinemas just ditched the outer seats and left the space empty instead.
