I'm almost convinced to tackle the rotten drywall in my ceiling from a roof leak! It will be a decent size hole. In any case, I'll need to find a place that will cut a sheet of drywall for me so I can get it home in my hatchback.
ОтветитьVery nice. To the point. I got very good idea. Will start working on my Dry wall tomorrow. 👍🙏🙏
ОтветитьWhen you put the tape down, did you overlap it at the corners at all?
ОтветитьI had a leaky roof
ОтветитьHey Paul, I've had a great result patching a water damaged piece of ceiling plasterboard following the excellent advice in your video. I haven't done the skimming yet but I can't help smiling every time I walk past and look up at the new patch and how it fits so well! Cheers buddy 👍
ОтветитьDon’t you have to wait until the first coat dries
ОтветитьWhen you say mud do you mean puddy
ОтветитьPaul I’m wondering how to do this repair when the hole is cut right to the stud on two sides (in an L shape)? The furring strips method won’t work because it creates a cantilever on one side and I can’t still the screw up as it’s loose.
ОтветитьI have a mold remediation company cutting out sections of the ceiling that have mildew on them, so I need to fill/ patch about 6 holes of various sizes. I was nervous to do it on my own, but maybe I'll give it a go! Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьGreat video. How long do you wait between coats?
ОтветитьGood video. The only thing you might have mentioned was to be sure that the drywall you're using to patch with is the same thickness as the existing drywall. I'm sure 99% of the time you're fine, but on occasion, you might run into something different.
ОтветитьHey man! I appreciate all of the knowledge in this video. I had a spare tile in the attic fall through the ceiling and punch a hole that I need to repair. The paint seems to have cracked quite a bit farther from the hole. It’s just a minor crack. Do you think I would need to cut and remove all of the cracked area or just cover the cracks with mud?
ОтветитьAs someone that has never done this before, how do I know what to make the mud with?
ОтветитьVery good video thanks.
ОтветитьWhat grit did you use when sanding
ОтветитьThoughts in fibafuse with self adhesive tape? Extra strength version?
ОтветитьAs the handy woman in my home I appreciate your video! I love learning new DIY home projects and this was well explained and just what I needed!
ОтветитьThank you so much Paul
ОтветитьWhat grit of sanding block did you use?
ОтветитьI had to investigate a shower pan leak. The guy who repaired the shower pan did not want to do the drywall. Thanks m8.
ОтветитьPopcorn ceiling from double wide
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you for posting this. I've never done a drywall repair like this, but this video helped me patch a hole in my ceiling. Thank you!
ОтветитьDude you’re amazing. Feeling less intimidated after watching this!
ОтветитьThis is awesome. Great tutorial.
ОтветитьI had a light fixture falling down, come to find out, water damage around it.🤦♀️
ОтветитьOnly after trying it, you realize that you get fooled thinking it is easy. Paul makes it look easy. Yes. It only looks easy. Haha.
ОтветитьThank you for your video
ОтветитьI have a small ceiling repair job to do; due to a leak after watching several of your videos I feel more confident now about doing the job. Thank You
ОтветитьIm working on a drywall repair in restroom kinda soft already but still durable.
ОтветитьI had some water damage in a bathroom and the drywall tape came off that was at top corner of the wall. Do you have any video given my situation? I know I am going to check for soggy dry wall sheet and if there isn't any just gonna use mud, drywall tape and mud again to patch up the small holes. does that sound something you would do? please let me know.
Ответитьwhat grit sandpaper do you use?
ОтветитьVery nice video
Ответить'Plaster' not 'Muudd' hahahah
ОтветитьSame process for making square in the ceiling with a stud in the way?
ОтветитьDo you use all purpose compound for the second coat or something else?
ОтветитьThank you so much! So helpful, to the point, and watchable 🙏👍👍👍
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for the information!
ОтветитьQuality video
ОтветитьAll propuse joing compound..but this dry in one day. So u came back next day to make this other coat or u use some trick to make it faster dry?
ОтветитьWow. Love this. I have two ceiling holes to fix. Thank you
ОтветитьFixing an attic ceiling because I fell thru 😂 🤦🏽♂️
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI'm a lady and needed to do a hike on my ceiling after my hubby fell through, he's not handy. I need to know how long do i let the first coat of mud dry before adding the second? Great video and very easy to understand and accomplish. Thank you😊
ОтветитьExcellent video! Nice workmanship, you know your craft.
ОтветитьHow can furring strips be enough just screwing on to drywall? Also how thick should a furring strip be?
ОтветитьI’m going to fix a damaged section on my ceiling from a roof leak. Approximately 12’’ by 12”
ОтветитьAnd now I have a stupid question. Your job looks so nice… do you need to paint?
ОтветитьHole in bathroom ceiling but in the corner with Crown Molding
ОтветитьLooks like such relaxing work.
ОтветитьCan you tell me what's the name of the compound you used for the ceiling? Thank you
