Thanks for clearing up the idea of memes for me. Most of what is referred to as memes in popular culture are not memes. I really like the idea that cultural evolution strives for sufficiency rather than optimization. There was an engineering firm in Seattle called "Good Enough Engineering." And that is all you really need.

Cool content and channel Nathanael! How common are memetic perspectives within archeology? I study memetics (especially social transmission of memes) in contemporary culture, and I've often thought that memetics is very underutilized in history and archaeology.
