AMD Ryzen 5 3600 + Radeon RX 6800, Good Combo? [1080p, 1440p, 4K]

Amd ryzen 5 3600x with msi 6800xt and 32gb ram asus rog Strix b550-f (MB) only game 1440p max settings. Cyberpunk and RDR2 have to drop settings a little. I want to upgrade, but this 3600x is a beast

Just to add that the visual quality was a step up from the 1080ti, sharper and more contrast at the same resolution, the 1080ti looks blurred and washed out by comparison, just a shame about the poor frame rates.

I recently purchased an RX6950 XT and installed it with my Ryzen 5 3600, I bought the card so that I could run triple 1080p screens and use VR for Iracing and AMS2, however, even in 1080p the performance was poor, frame rate fluctuations between 250fps down to 60fps in 1080p and I couldn’t get a steady 90fps in VR even on low settings in game. I used DDU to remove my old NVidea drivers before installing the new card and enables SAM etc, but whatever I tried I found the performance inconsistent.
I return back to my 1080ti and it runs those games great, without massive frame drops, I’m not sure ifs it’s down to the game engines on iracing etc, but for a card that retailed at £1100, I am very disappointed and am returning it.

Thought 5600 wasnt enough for 1080p.

Bottom line: Dont buy a new cpu if you have a 3600. Ive never seen my ryzen 3600 cross 90% in any game except Cinebench which isnt a game of course

Still rocking a 3600 just upgraded the gpu to a 6750 xt and im amazed how good investment the 3600 has been probably staying with it a bit longer works great

i got the 6800 and the ryzen 5 3600 and in Siege at 1080p i only get 100 fps

For those wondering a 3600 and rx 6800xt will get you a solid 150 fps while playing cod multiplayer in 1440p with 16 gb of ram on a b450 motherboard just make sure you can cool your cpu. For $90 the 3600 is an absolute monster

Did you notice any power spikes on this combo? as in if you monitored did they spike above 600w or close?

As a 3600 user who got it for 170 USD, and who just now bought a RX 6800 ( I know a little late to the party), this is the most satisfactory video I have watched lately.

I have basically the same setup except my i have 4x 8gb sticks instead of 2x 16gb and my mobo only has pcie 3.0 and i get a bit more than 30fps in horizon zero dawn ultra quality at 4k. I am not running 4k nativley but i am using an amd adrenaline feature that makes the game run at 4k and scales it down to my monitoers resolution (1080p) is that the reason or do i have a faulty gpu? Also at 1080p ultra i get about 115fps instead of the 130 you got.

I have 3600 and 6800xt sapphire nitro. My advice is just get an aftermarket cooler and overclock it to 4.3Ghz like I did. Cyberpunk works on high/ultra 1440p with 100+ all the time. Someone in the comments said his games were choppy, and I had that same issue in Spiderman. Just up the "power tuning" in the amd adrenalin software to +15 and the chopping is gone. Even before overclock.

i had a 3600 and went to a 10850k and in game there was a major difference in smoothness. idk what was up with the 3600 but it felt choppy. framerates weren't a huge step up but the games just ran smoother.

Given today's climate, which Ryzen processor would you recommend to pair with the 6800? I was thinking the 5600 non X as it is currently under 140 usd, any thoughts? Or would it be better to pair the 5600 non X with the 6650 XT or 6700 XT?

i just upgraded to an rx 6800 and i need your help ! ( also running a Ryzen 5 3600 on an tomahawk b450 max II with an 600W PSU and 16GB ddr4 3200 RAM)
as i did all the installation and stuff i already wondered why my performance isnt that much better than expected.( before i ran a 1060 6gb)
so just now i found this video and got my confirmation that somethings off with my rig...
can someone maybe tell me what could be wrong ? also i have one 250gb ssd and 1tb ssd.. running on windows 10..
even my chrome is stuttering when im scrolling as the video is running.. so weird
