Ark Genesis was cool but the Tek and space creatures forgot us about dinosaurs normal form and even the old raids old taming old flyers and the island scorched earth aberration and extinction

what a great map, i feel like it's really been forgotten about but man. A very unique one indeed.

Ark is a super fun game on most fronts, the only thing really killing it for a lot of people is the fact that the base settings for everything are scaled for multiplayer servers with tribes of hundreds of players constantly gathering and crafting. I always tell people to adjust ALL settings to taste, but especially taming speed, player movement speed, and player fortitude. I just got game pass on series x so i'm going to try out the genesis maps and this is good info to see the new features.

I'm currently playing the first version of Genesis... And it's hard AF. Bog is apparently supposed to be easy, and that proved to be false since every spawn point is right next to a carnivore. lol.

This is actually my favourite map! Sure it restricts your building, but ehh, I've never been good at building, and I understand why they had to do it.

I like having to travel and I don't mind the no-fliers rule, it makes it more fun to explore! + you can just grab a procoptodon and go jumping around. It also brings many great tames, most can be really hard to get, but rewarding.

Edit: If you don't know what you're doing on this map at first, then that's fine, spawn in bog, grab a rock or 2 for basic tools, teleport then go to the ocean, you can safely get creatures like basilos very easily as Mantas cannot spawn on the map (From what I've seen). Makes it much easier to get strong right from the bat and you can grind missions to get good gear and levels easily

Floating islands but no means of reaching them? What's that about?

This makes me want to go back... I played swamp solo and it was so shit. I couldn’t build a base cause a spino or bary would spawn.
I kept getting swarmed. I never thought I check other areas.
Ark has been decently good with having safe spawns be safe. So I trusted it

in lore "our tale" ended at extinction, where it is unknown what happens to the survivor next (unless they just keep playing), in the two genesis instalments its actually a different person who went with the federation on the genesis ship, kind of sad to know the story of the survivor I took from the first island ark all the way back to earth has ended his story.

if you can pull it off, getting a stego in the lava place thats high level and then using it in bog for defense,wood,thatch and berry gathering is a pretty good strat

So this is Genesis I don't know anything about it except a lot of people keep saying that it's a really interesting math and by just watching this yeah it is quite interesting

Genesis does quite a few things very well, though it has it's shortcomings. I really like the mini-missions. They FINALLY did underwater exploration right and made it enjoyable. There's some great new creatures in the game as well.

You could just sit in Bog and farm paste on a frog.

Great videos btw even though I played on most of these maps extensively I love your content. But it made me think of some wishful thinking that I would like in the game.

I was thinking between looking at all of these maps again that I wish someone would make either an inspired version or a moded version of Scorched Earth, but adds the Genesis Volcano like Biome and Extinction like Wastelands to the map to give it diversity without actually having to break the harsh hot theme of the map. Maybe this time around have no corrupted creatures in the wasteland, also since this would be an Ark we wouldn't have to worry about meteor showers like on Earth where extinction takes place. Not that I want to make the area too easy but I like the idea of encouraging players to build in more areas, one of the reasons I didn't like Extinction and Genesis Pt 1 as you are discouraged from building some places.
I would also like to give the map 2 Aberration zones. A white hot crystal area which is hot like the surface. Sort of would look the same as the giant white crystals in the Fertile Zone. This is a good zone right before the Radiation area. This way the whole map stays hot. Giant crystals like this IRL are pretty hot like the one cave in Mexico so it makes sense. And the radiation zone has radiation so not really an escape from having to learn to survive with the heat. I like this idea since the map wouldn't have an ocean.

Genesis looks cool but I won’t get it I already have the season pass so why make me buy another one for one map

I love the concept of Genesis. I pretty much refuse to play Ari online at this point, so an emphasis on single player stuff is what I’m looking for. However, this map is so frustrating to even begin to get established on. I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to make the swamp the “easiest” location. But also filling his it to the brim with predators and insect swarms.

Hated the teleport system, you teleport to biome before screen loads and get killed.

As and FYI there are multiple locations the beaver damns can spawn near that lake. There is a path that goes around it that usually has a few.

I never did understand how you could transport creatures from an in-universe simulation to the real world of ark. Maybe its going to get explained in the next dlc.

Genesis was my least favorite map, used to be Scorched. While it had some stunning environments, a key thing I look for in a map, the limit of building really made it kind of pointless. It's creatures, new ones not variants, are very interesting yet kind of a hassle to get in the beginning. In comparison one of my favorite early tames, the Ravager, is easy and remains very useful throughout with its weight reduction and hardiness. Admittedly I have progressed only so far due to some of these limitations. I have yet to tame any gen creatures, only having a x-basi a small pack of bred x-raptors and a start to some mid level x-megs.

Ark fatigue sat in pretty quickly when Gen 1 dropped and I played other things for a while. Only recently have I been getting back into ark and I have mostly been on Aberration.

I liked Genesis, but it was not my favorite expansion. That will always be a tie between Aberration and Extinction. Genesis was a cool idea, but suffered from flawed implementation. I like missions, for example, but too many of them were just the same mission reskinned, so a lot of potential lead to nothing. Zones were pretty amazing, but you could build in so few places because the way they designed the missions was open world instead of instanced.

Worst aspect of the expansion was the wonky teleportation being broken. It would teleport me to the wrong location frequently and without my pets.

Great zones, cool but few new creatures lead to a disappointing result, but still worth having.

I feel like the only real biome that is even close to being "good" to build in is artic. However this whole dlc kinda sucks to build on. I do love the quests and I do really love the new tames. I hate not being able to use flyers lol but it isn't hard to not play on because abberation is my favorite.

I’d love to see an full story of ark video after gen part 2 comes out.

Fantastic Video! I've been waiting for this since Genesis is my favorite map. Love your channel, keep up the great work! One thing though, there are multiple Beaver dams, however they are near the cliffs in the Arctic near the lake. You just have to kill enough salmon for them to spawn. :)
