Dolphins are such successful predators that they can waste time and energy playing as much as they do. This is a basic necessity to evolve intelligence. If youre too busy just trying to stay alive you dont have enough time to play with bubble rings for hours at a time and therefore you dont learn as much by doing so. Being successful enough that you can waste time playing is the first step to intelligence. Atleast biologically. I dont think ai will have to work under the same constraints. That's why it's so different.
Ответитьcan we change it so taxes go towards more of these machines
ОтветитьVery fascinating and interesting
ОтветитьPlay is such an amazing sign of intelligence. Many people interpret that as "play will make the dolphins smarter." That's not the case though. They were already smart. "Dolphins are smart therefore they play." That's what's really going on. Play is an example of growing past your animal instincts of self-preservation and survival strategies. Our dopamine system rewards us when we do things that will help us to propagate our species. Play is a realization that you can trigger these dopamine responses without actually needing to do anything at all for your evolutionary survival. The dolphins are smart enough to understand that they can live a life MORE than just that of animal instinct. They really are quite smart. With cats, however, their type of play is very much focused around triggering that animalistic dopamine hunting response. So their not just playing for plays sake which is feeling good. Some cats are more than smart enough to do this, but most just emulate what they'd be doing naturally to get that dopamine. So it doesn't really compare with what the dolphins are doing, but it's also not the best example of dolphins playing for plays sake as the biting of the rings can be seen as hunting behavior. But it really reads more like they are playing instead of hunting simulation. And there are much better videos out there showing dolphins playing games that don't really have anything to do with their kind of hunting. I wonder if dolphins are smart enough to understand that other creatures are conscious just the same as the dolphins and that have information about the universe that the dolphins don't have. This is the step that separates human intellect from animal.
ОтветитьOr they actually thinking those are jellyfishes...
ОтветитьThis was so cool! But I just kept thinking I hope they don’t get gas Fr the air that it looked like they were swallowing 😂😂😂
ОтветитьSO ADORABLE 🥹
ОтветитьIm getting super Mario 64 ptsd.....
ОтветитьNeat.
ОтветитьIs that Stephen Fry?
Sounds like the Hitchhiker’s Guide.
this is hilarious 😂😂😂😂 they´re playing some underwater basketball or some sh**
ОтветитьBe honest who else came straight to the comments? 😂
ОтветитьThey're very interesting. Dont they also play with pufferfish to get high from their poison or something?
ОтветитьThose dolphins don’t look real
ОтветитьWhat will they make of them? Well I can make a Hat, or a Brooch, or a Pterodactyl flip a flapping…
Ответить"Something they haven't ever seen before..." I cannot accept this opening statement. Dolphins make those bubbles themselves all the time.
ОтветитьSooo cute lol
ОтветитьGorilla, dolphins, octopi, magpies, animals at this point are smarter than most of the folks i see on the news.
ОтветитьI never knew dolphins passed so much wind. Fascinating creatures.
ОтветитьLove it and always loved dolphins! So smart ❤
ОтветитьGonna be fun when we figure out how to talk to them.
Or they figure out how to talk to us.
This is the most adorable thing I saw today
ОтветитьEcho? Anybody? Just me? Okay 😂
ОтветитьI like the music it sounds like avatar the last airbender
ОтветитьFYI Dolphins are the only other mammal that has sex for the enjoyment of it. Also known to "rape" other mammals... ohhhhh that bottle nose....
ОтветитьWhy would you call bubble rings "bizarre"? And what makes you think they have never seen one?
ОтветитьWhy do dolphins love humans so much they would protect us too right?
Ответить"These bubble donuts taste amazing. Thank you Human."
ОтветитьDid the same thing in 1973 on Coconut Island (Kane'ohe bay) O'ahu, Hawai'i. HOWEVER, back then, I had NO cameras
ОтветитьMay i point out that they seemed to had figured out the timings too. especially 1 that was shown that would turn up almost at the right time for the release of a bubble.
ОтветитьWhales and dolphins blow bubble rings and play with them.
Why say they never saw bubble rings?
It's in their nature.
I love them, I wish the ocean wasn’t in so much danger. Makes me sad
ОтветитьWe all know the one gonig for the swim through is the most intelligent one. And the one bursting the bubble right at the bottom is the exact opposite!
ОтветитьDolphins are overrated. I had one as a roommate once. Total d**k. Up all night chirping and squealing. Give it a freaking rest, Flipper! Geez! 😡
ОтветитьWho sees this and thinks of Clifford D. Simak?
ОтветитьBeautiful, like children playing with bubbles
ОтветитьI wonder what they taste like.
Ответить"While some animals will show initial interest in novel objects, very few exhibit an unemployment rate as high as the dolphins"
Ответить❤❤❤💚💚💚💚
ОтветитьThis is the kind of research I am here for.
ОтветитьThey don't test they know!!
ОтветитьYou think dolphins are that stupid...wake up

ОтветитьAn intelligent creature its that one who is curious and playful
Ответитьdolphins can make bubble ring themself
Ответить
