Was Fable II as good as I remember? - An imperfect clone of its predecessor

Thank God it is backwards compatible on the Xbox One/Series consoles.
That's how I got to play the game, but I still haven't completed it. In fact, this video sat in my Watch Later list for a while wanting to complete it, but by this point if I'm going to revisit the game I might as well start a new save ;-;

Subscribed the minute I heard Aesop rock. Was already loving the fable content and then boom.

I played Fable 2 before the first Fable when I was about 8 or 9, and no game since has ever come close to being such a magical experience. I love everything about it and I still play through it from time to time.

The story completely captures my attention. My only negative view is that I wish the story was longer. Once you're out of the Spire, the game is basically already finished since there's not much more to do once you get to Wraithmarsh. This obviously all depends on how much time you've committed to building renown in order to get Reaver sending you to the Shadow Court from the get-go.

Fable 1 will always be the GOAT imo as the studio was never able to top it. Each release after just felt like a downgrade

I've always said. "If you like Fable 2 and/or 3 you haven't played the majesty that is Fable1."

i co op played this game wiht my wife when it came out. we were only together for one year at that point and we just reached our 15 year anniversary

I think my x360 died on that game at somewhere like 10m moment in vid, 15 years ago :D Sad that i need x360 to try finish it now.

Ah, my favorite in the series. Maybe because of low expectations. I never forgave Molyneux for hyping up "Project Ego" as much as he did, leading to Fable falling well short of what I imagined it to be. What I got was preposterously small areas, linear paths and dozens of incredibly shallow systems. But hey, at least my hero was a glowy-eyed bodybuilder by the end of the game.

So I went into Fable II not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by the bigger scope, more fun exploration and just more interesting stuff to do in general.

Fable III's unlock system was such a big turn-off that I stopped playing it after about ten hours, even though I spent hundreds of hours and got every achievement in FII.

I love Fable 2 the best of the three!

Fun fact, did ya know the Marksmen hero will kill Luthian, if ya don't do anything after the magic box scene, while listening to his dialoge

The movement in the first fable was definitely worse. I just booted up fable TLC and Fable anniversary then Fable 3 to compare. The first fable's movement is horrid. All in all Fable 2 was a more enjoyable experience than the first because its just so much more fleshed out and bigger and the most important part the morphing is way better. The magic was a downgrade however.

@The Salt Factory - actually no, the snowglobe dlc can be accessed right away - it's actually the first side quest I did.

While the Xbox one is compatible with the Xbox 360 disc for Fable 2, I continuously find that the game operates no better, and consistently freezes my character while everything else continues to move around.

Here's a fun fact the playable heroes in fable 2 and 3 (the hero in the 2nd game being the mother/father of thr hero in the 3rd game) are decendants from the hero in the first game meaning Theresa is at least an aunt from round about 9 generations ago

You gotta remember, if you wait at the end of the game and let Lucien talk Reaver will get bored and shoot ‘em. Like the dude didn’t have them stripped of their weapons, or anything. It was wasted potential.

Great game, too bad it's stuck on the 360 and was never released for PC. I used to have a 360 but the red ring of death took it out and I'm not buying another one for one game lol.

The thing that pissed me off most about 2 and 3 was not being able to murder Reaver.

He's so fucking annoying.

You my friend bought a 360 that was on it's last legs and the laser that reads the disk is probably on it's way out.

Loading issues. Had to check this but from my dvd recorded footage of the game I didn't have those issues. Hardware issue perhaps?

For refrance. This was on 360 original hardware. Loaded from the harddrive... so dvd lense on the way out?

Those damn "breadcrumbs" aka the gold trail to follow. This is the game that started that whole trend. I love Fable 2 but damn it to hell for creating that trend.

I played 3, 2 and 1 in that order and not gonna lie i can't remember anything about 2

After i played this game for the first time i was so pissed off with what got, i sold (or traded) the game. I think out of all 360 games it was the biggest disappointment for me.

good note to make here is that while buying castle fairfax is totally optional it is considered the canon thing to do in the games story because of fable 3. as the hero from fable 2 is the king/queen of albion before the events of fable 3. hinted by the interaction and vision you get from theresa after doing all the stuff tied to castle fairfax upon buying it.
