Here's a question for you. In a lot of cases, a designer might know how they helped a team or project or whatever, and may even know their work made a positive impact, but may not have access to metrics like "raised by 15%." What should we include as an effective alternative to putting numbers into our achievements?
ОтветитьHey Farah❤, my brother is looking for a graphic design job, but he has limited time on his OPT-just one month left-and he's not receiving any responses. We're feeling frustrated. He has everything ready, including a strong resume, cover letter, portfolio, and has reached out to HR. It's a critical time for his visa status. He's really talented, but he needs help with connections. I think you would be a great person to discuss this with. Let me know if you're available!😢
ОтветитьShould I upload multiple tailored resumes according to each job applications?
ОтветитьWish you would advise on level entry jobs with no experience. My graduate daughter is currently looking for a job with no luck at all. It appears that most junior roles require some kind of experience. She’s getting desperate.
ОтветитьPeople around me take me down. I can never be as good with knowledge-sharing as you. Because people climb on me and keep me down. I believe you've achieved so much in your life that now you only believe in goodness of this world and sharing. This video is also shared with sh*ty people who can leverage on it and pretend to act as told just for the sake of getting in the job.
ОтветитьDont be White. Dont be male....you can say it, you know. We all know it!
ОтветитьFarah, I just found you today. You’ve given more information than executive coaches out there. I will be sharing your channel with everyone!!!
ОтветитьOMG, I didn’t have many of these settings open. You are a gem, thanks for passing on valuable information. I had no idea
ОтветитьI'm too private, so i do not have a linkedin. Yeah, people will say, "well that is y u cant find a job blah blah blah." But there are other better ways to contact employers imo
ОтветитьThe problem is..most people looking for jobs are currently employed and they don't want their current employer to know their looking. This is why people hide their profiles from a search
ОтветитьBut recruiters do not read. They are the laziest dumbest people ever. That's the ONLY problem in the industry. I am a Software Engineer, thousand times they´ve reached out to me to recruit me for the company I was actually working for. Lol
ОтветитьHi Madam,
I am Mihir Singh Thakur from India. I am working professional as a credit analyst(Loan Against property) in one of top NBFC. Today I watch your short video and subscribe your channel due to your guidance regarding LinkedIn profile and other things.
Thank and regards
Mihir Singh Thakur
Appreciate the content. Yes I'm a subscriber and I've made some adjustments on my LinkedIn profile. A lot of more videos are ahead of me.
ОтветитьThose examples of saved x % or whatever aren't quantifiable for most positions. It's the kind o good advice that has no practical benefit.
ОтветитьI don't understand the importance of Linkedin or any similar social media site. I mean so what if you lie and say the same thing in 2 places does that make it more believable? Do recruiters think that you will send one so-called specific tailored resume to them and forget what you put on Linkedin or told somebody else? Are social media checks for recent 22 year old college grads? Does anybody expect someone middle aged applicant to act ridiculously where everyone can see it including the recruiter and then reject it early enough in the process so that it was always "somebody else" we selected instead of some illegal reason? And yes you got it, I am a homeowner, the better kind of homeowner, the one with the house paid off . . .
ОтветитьThis is an excellent video! The insights on common LinkedIn mistakes and strategies for improving visibility are invaluable. I’ve been actively optimizing my profile and engaging with the LinkedIn community. To further enhance my job search, I’ve been using tools like Jobsolv and other similar platforms to build a strong, tailored resume.
ОтветитьThe first mistake is having a LinkedIn profile
ОтветитьAbout me I am 2021 cse grad in 2022 June I got my first Job actually the role was python developer but they put me into data analyst the company was good it was a product based but my manager wasn't played so many cards on 13 interns usually internship is max duration is 6 months in corporate but inspite of higher authority message to give everyone as an associate that didn't happen my manager was very toxic and office politics some even worked for 3 years as interns 😭
Due to this I resigned in 2023 June from then till now I am jobless I don't know what to do I tired frontend development but the current market and frontend is really saturated now I have a career gap
It's 2025 start we have arrived still unemployed 😭😭😭😭
Linkedin is corporate garbage
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьIt's truly Awesome. Keep rocking mam.....
ОтветитьPeople that say social media is toxic haven't been to LinkedIn 😂
ОтветитьDamn, this is good advice.
ОтветитьWhy do we have to use LinkedIn to find a job nowadays? What a stupid world this is.
ОтветитьNot a fan of listing % improvements a candidate made in their last job. Most of the time these claims are never supported with real data and feel deceitful, not a great way to start the process.
ОтветитьI would even take a shitty in my situation, been applying for ages, ghosted after 1st or 2nd interview 😢
Ответитьwow I really appreciate this advice thanks.
ОтветитьThis video is so helpful. I didn't realize how many simple mistakes I was making on LinkedIn. Time to update my profile.
ОтветитьGreat tips here. I always thought my LinkedIn was good enough, but now I see there's definitely room for improvement.
ОтветитьI came across this platform called ResuBot that helps create ATS-friendly resumes. Seems like it could be useful for those looking to optimize their job applications.
ОтветитьThese LinkedIn tips are a game changer. I’m definitely going to start building my network more strategically.
ОтветитьI've heard people say using tools like Resubot can really help streamline the job application process. Might be worth checking out if you're struggling with resumes.
ОтветитьI'm concerned about providing too much location information, photos, and personal details on LinkedIn due to identity theft.
ОтветитьLinkedin is connected to deviant freemasons and the mafia. I would never approach them for anything. They are ballsy, stupid and have no consideration for others. Money is their only god.
Ответитьyou get more spam when you enable this function
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьAmazing input.
ОтветитьThank you I added the key words just like 2 weeks ago ! So true , my profile views increased !
ОтветитьNot great advice! Hackers, crackers and identity thieves and fraudsters love any ehere they can't pick up private information. LinkedIn is absolute dream come true for criminals. Yes get a job and lose all your data, money and life! Brilliant.. No thanks.
ОтветитьTLDR - You are not worth anything based on your profile because the most unskilled and worthless people in the world, HR, will look at your skills and education and deem it unworthy because you do not fit all 100 check boxes for an entry level janitor position.
Recruiters and HR are all fart sniffing pretentious aholes that does not give any thought to you, your CV, or your credentials. They have tools that automate your CV and throw it out before they even see it. They will have industry buzzwords and make those the filters so that they can gaslight you for a position that you are either outskilled for, or simply is below what your actual job is.
Recruiters do not see the people that actually need the jobs because let's face it, who do you think you are? applying for a job you are skilled for and have experience and a degree? No No NO. Sorry, infact, how dare you apply for that position? You want to work that entry level desktop support IT job, well sorry, you do not have a degree and 3 years experience in with 1 year management. You want that entry level bank clerk job? Sorry, our buzzwords says you need a masters in finance or econ from one of the top 100 universities in the world, go away you rusky bucket.
Until people start calling out recruitment practises as scams, nothing will change. They will promote non existant jobs or gaslight people into thinking they are not worth an actual job. Not to mention jobs titles that are completely made up because guess what, you also have to do the job of three other positions. Why do you think the "requirements" are 20-30 bullet points. What job in the world requires a person to do THAT many duties for a single role?
Just came across ur video and subscribed! I've recently been pushed onto dilmil and gosh it's more soul crushing and intimidating than any LinkedIn rejection!😂 I'm definitely looking to update my resume and profile on all platforms and this was good information. Any particular tips for your resume passing the ATS tracking system? The Keywords and font is certainly a big deal.
ОтветитьGood tips!
ОтветитьThank you for the insight Farah!! It was truly insightful, and helpful.❤
ОтветитьGreat vid! Can recruiters see all resumes that you've uploaded in the past or just the current one?
ОтветитьGood stuff, Farrah! Thank you.
ОтветитьI’ve had a particularly bad job search. I'm in general usually super wary of visiting company websites from job sites, especially ones with a ton of ads. I saw a lot of their job posts on LinkedIn were clogging up my job feed under the name Umicas if you google them and didn’t apply, but gave it a shot today. Mobile was rough, but desktop was fine. Applied, and they were the FIRST to get back to me. I Interviewed, and it went pretty well. Anyone else had a similar experience / see them on LinkedIn? I think they only hire for tech roles though. They seem to still have a lot of open positions
ОтветитьThis has been one of the most helpful linkedin videos I've seen. Thank you!
ОтветитьNone of this advice even matters when every job you apply to has “100+ applicants”. You don’t know if that’s 101 applications or 1,000. Getting a job in today’s world is a complete joke when everyone on the globe with an internet connection has access to the same jobs.
ОтветитьThis channel is a gem for offering actual helpful advice to tech industry job searching!
