23 minutes long without a single word about Neil Peart or Rush. May as well be talking about the best guitar players while leaving out Hendrix or EVH. The omission is glaring, he obviously had a grudge of some kind.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьGregg is a national drumming treasure.
ОтветитьNeil Peart?
ОтветитьI could watch and listen to this all day.
ОтветитьI did not want this Beato edition to end. Always respected Bissonette, but this was a rare gift. Thank you both.
ОтветитьShould've had some Jimmy Chamberlain!
ОтветитьI have watched this video at least four times in the last week or so. Love it!
ОтветитьGeorgeous, that is.
Ответитьi don´t need to know these grooves. I only need to know my own song´s grooves.
ОтветитьTip of the hat to Gregg. A walking encyclopaedia of drumming, a whirlwind of enthusiasm and a fantastic player.
ОтветитьI feel like if Greg bissonnette would learn to sing he would go streight to Rod Stewart impersonations 😂😂
Ответитьwho is carl palmer
ОтветитьFASCINATING! Thank you, Gregg and Rick!
ОтветитьI first saw Gregg (along with Dennis, Vinnie, Will Calhoun and Simon Phillips, et al) on a Zildjian Days video when I was about 12 years old. I wore that VHS tape out! Always loved his energy back there. Also, hearing his Rosanna groove makes me feel a little better about mine and gives me even more respect for Jeff's. But I also love what he says about not necessarily transcribing a beat exactly but playing in the "style" or "spirit" of a drummer or a song. Interpretation is almost always more interesting than imitation. (Except on some of those particularly iconic beats where the audience knows every note.)
ОтветитьGregg is one of the best if not the best drummer in our lifetime, his skill level is off the charts. Great interview Rick...
ОтветитьThere is a new ligue of drummers marking the new age and development of music. Puts all drummers in theres shade: Kanade Sato and Senri Kawaguchi.
ОтветитьIve said it once Ill say it a million times - watching drummers is SO INFECTIOUS. Its like watching someone exercise and actually going, “god I WISH I could go do that!”
God. Whenever I watch someone play drums, I cry in guitarist/bassist - my instrument can be quiet and far less expensive. I would kill to have access to an acoustic kit. (Or electric)
He has voice like Steve Perry
ОтветитьBeat machine. God damn. He can play anything.
ОтветитьWhat an absolute treat! Cheers for this Rick.
ОтветитьMan, I wish I had these Guys help me tune my Drums to sound as sweet as these sounded !. Yes, they were miked, but no EQs were used. As a Hobbyist Drummer, at 71 YO, I resurrected Playing after 50 YEARS [1969], in retirement, about 1 Hour a day to My Music (all of which is in this Video). Way Back thenin 1967-69 when I was learning and playing with some HS Buddies in a Garage Band, I never knew anything about Tweaking and Tuning Drums. That Included trying Different Heads, etc. I know better Now. But I struggle with Tuning to get to those Sweet spots. I've watched tons of drum tuning videos including Rick's videos, but just can't get there!.
ОтветитьOh Gregg, that's the best Porcaro I've heard. Light, airy, flowy....Wonderful!!
ОтветитьWe need the purdy shuffle!
ОтветитьEnormous talent and so much love for music
Ответитьdrummers are amazing
ОтветитьI want his energy.
ОтветитьThis was so fun and educational . I can't believe how much I missed in my life so great to see a drummer that lives thru all the music !
ОтветитьI took years of lessons, Gregg covered most of it. This was awesome.
ОтветитьLarry Larry where ya goin to ?
Ответитьsooooooo good!
ОтветитьI rewatch this just to be encouraged by Greg’s enthusiasm!
ОтветитьWhat a natural entertainer!! Also Rick should be on TV, have enjoyed many hours watching this guy.
ОтветитьSuper guy…great demos
ОтветитьWould love a similar video with a great funk drummer! 😎
ОтветитьCross between Alex Lifeson and Jeff Daniels... and I'll have what he's having
ОтветитьHe's like the Buddy Guy of drums
ОтветитьGoddamn I'm 31 and I just started drumming 4 months ago. I got a loooong way to go........
ОтветитьWow this was very interesting. I'm not a drummer but this guy had me watching the whole vlog. Great job 👍... gilcortez from Grand Prairie Texas
ОтветитьGregg Bissonette is the worst one trick pony I know of, because he knows and can play anything with energy, nerve, groove and passion !!! :D
Ответитьvery sympathetic guy
ОтветитьShout out from Mott High School... Warren Michigan.
ОтветитьI didn’t realize the drums passed away last year.
ОтветитьPinky is out Waste of energy.
ОтветитьDavid Lee Roth’s band with him, Vai, & Sheehan was the top of the food chain, elite, and then some.
ОтветитьWhat a great guy!
And: modern drummers don't use the high-hat like that anymore because it's fking difficult, ie. needs lots of practice.
the pertty shuffle
ОтветитьKrupa's was my first beat learned . I played Wipeout in 6th grade with double stroke rolls. Blew away the other kids!
ОтветитьGregg Bissonette - thank you for making the Joe Satriani's Extremist album so great. It's the best Joe's album ever because of your playing on it. 👍👍👍 If I were to hire a drummer for a session, it would be YOU. 😉
