My Aunt had to go through having to have a baby aborted for medical reasons. The baby was developing outside the womb and would have killed them both if allowed to develop further. So there is truth to your hypothetical, there are cases in which doctors can confirm the mother will die.

Why go grocery shopping for the week? You should just wait everyday for manna to fall from the sky. When you buy toilet paper, you buy it for much more than a day or weeks worth.

It's good to have extra food on hand. And medicine and supplements that you need daily. But to be freaky and pile up a bunch of food that you will need to throw away and money down the drain. No.

Anencephaly means the baby is born missing portions of their brain. These babies will survive at most a few days.

I’m more concerned for my cats so I have extra bags of cat food on hand. If I run out of food, I can ration the cat food. If I had young children, I’d be prepping more. During the big convid, I realized how spiritually unprepared I was....lost my job, lots of anxiety. I still struggle in my daily walk with God, especially just spending time in His Word.

For question 2, the hypothetical is assuming that the baby is dead. If the baby is dead in the womb that is a miscarriage, technically called a spontaneous abortion. Yes sometimes, this needs medical assistance to get rid of the deceased baby from the mother's body. What we need to do is not muddy the waters by accusing women who have miscarriages like they chose not to carry the child to term.

The scenario is very real, sadly. My best friend, a sincere Christian who was so excited for her & her husband (also a Christian) to see the very first ultrasound pictures, were met with this tragic situation. She had an ectopic pregnancy. The baby was wrapped in her fallopian tube outside of her uterus. The longer the baby grew (& the baby had zero chance of being disentangled, nor did it have any chance of living) - the greater it made the mom's chance of death grow, also. They had to radiate it so that the poor thing could fall off gradually. They had to live 6 hours from home to be near a large enough hospital (Alaskans), & had to stay within minutes of the hospital.
As it was, she still almost bled to death.
You cannot imagine how traumatic of a decision this was. Thankfully, our church (which is VERY pro life) was incredibly loving & supportive, but what a terrible way to lose your first baby.
The Lord has since blessed them with 3 beautiful boys.
The doctor was compassionate & prayed with them.
The doctor called several experts to make sure that this was the only way.
Hypotheticals can be real.

I live in California. We prep, to an extent, for an earthquake. I am also prepping, to an extent for the inflation we are experiencing. I try and have a few weeks worth of food in the house. We cycle through the food so it doesn't go bad. My husband is our only income, I homeschool our kids, so I'm very careful with what I buy. Plus we enjoy camping so our camping gear is always accessible if we need to get out of here. I am also prepped to take people in if needed. My sister and her family lives by LA and we are just outside of San Francisco so if she gets hit, she is going to make her way here and vice versa. If the whole state falls into the ocean we are heading to our dad's in Indiana and he gets to deal with all of us and the grandkids bahahahaha.

No abortion is justified- in rape & incest that baby IS life & innocent- yet there are medical procedures in place to deal with this & why abortion NEVER should be accessed as it has been for ppl to use to rid themselves of what they see as a social problem , financial problem or just to ensure their lifestyle does not change . Abortion is murder in my eyes & always will be - LIFE must be held as precious as Our Heavenly Father teaches us it is

As far as a child with a condition that will not survive - when working in Hospital I met a mother who actually was going through such a heartbreaking situation & she prayed & prayed then told the dr to do everything possible to deliver the baby & give palliative care - if she is at the brink of death the dr are to do the C-section or whatever is required to save her life for her other children - well the child was taken by C section & he lived a few hours where she could hold him as he went home to the Lord .
Yes this medical scenario does exist but is very few & the docs will do what the parent wants - the medical team does everything possible to educate the parents on every option & outcome - God is all knowing & the most important fact is HE knows what is in our hearts when we are cornered into making a decision on such a scenario- this is why praying fasting & seeking Gods guidance to make the decision that honors HIM

Yet to be honest we recently had a horrible storm in Maine where ppl had no power etc for over 2 weeks & because we prepared for disasters we were blessed to help many in our community- our most important object we hoard is Bibles & apocrypha with other teaching tools - to help ppl read ( different languages as well ) - the only “ crazy thing “ as ppl tell me - is in travel I have placed help kits with bibles & I leave them in places ppl can find all across US - even Hawaii which help so many homeless there .

When I think of praying for others who are struggling with sin, I think of praying that the Lord may soften their heart so they can accept Him. This might come in the form of experiences that will help them have a change of heart.

I also see this as a commandment and part of our own repentance and journey towards Christ. Matt 5: 44-46.

I had two babies delivered very early because I was about to die. They delivered the babies. Thankfully, they were far enough along and survived, but you have to remember even if the babies are not far enough for long do not abort but deliver : so there is dignity and no suffering on the part of the baby. Abortion rips babies apart and burns them alive. That is cruel and unnecessary.

Pastor Mike, thank for your take on question #2. I do want to share that in a situation where the mother's life is threatened and the pregnancy must end, the pro-life option is to either induce labor or complete a c-section. The reason is that if the mother's life is truly threatened, then the pregnancy must end asap. Abortion using pills requires a 2 day protocol, so that is not an "emergency". Abortion procedures utilize a pill which is meant to stop the baby's heart, then the next day the baby is removed in pieces via suction or is pulled out manually, so that is also not an "emergency" option. However, if labor is induced or a c-section is performed, the baby is able to pass on in the loving arms of mom and/or dad, or a nurse who values life.

With the doomsday prep for me it's more about ensuring my family is provided for when it's hard I think it's smart to have those back ups. Some people go really crazy with it and start to get fearful, which we're not supposed to be doing it out a fear.
My husband always says "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst"

Unless you have a specific disaster to prep for such as a hurricane, the only thing you need to be constantly prepping is your skill set. Can you grow food, provide basic emergency medical care, fix and maintain a vehicle, forage, hunt or fish? If not, learn now so you know how if and when the time comes, or keep a network of friends with these skills that you can barter with. Otherwise, keep enough on hand for yourself and your family/pets for you to live on without having to rely on other people for a few weeks. Anything more is hoarding and it keeps things from others that need them. i.e. the great toilet paper shortage of 2020.

It’s bs that it’s illegal to collect rain water but you can bet I’ll do it in an emergency. Knowing how to fish instead of collecting and storing is better in the long run. “Give us this day our daily bread.” I rely on God to give me what my family needs to make it through anything. My job is to pay attention and obey Him.

Ectopic pregnancy is where the baby attaches to the fallopian tubes. Most pregancies are not viable. Much of the time, the mother miscarries. But if there is no miscarriage, chances are the uterus ruptures and it's a rush to get the mother into surgery before she dies. If the baby survives, it's rare enough that it should be published in newspapers. Under that circumstance, save the mother.

But I read a comment where the mother had an abortion because her baby didn't have lungs. She defended her choice. That was murder. Stupid, illogical murder. Chopping up the baby before it suffocates is not solving anything. She could have given birth and the doctors could have given the baby happytime drugs to prevent suffering and no life would be taken. Just because there is no good ending to the story, that doesn't justify abortion. That's a worse ending.

There is a happy medium and a way to have faith in God but also know that God wants us to be prepared and care for our family’s well-being.
