Pinterest Rich Pins for Wordpress, SquareSpace & Shopify (2023 UPDATE)

Hey Heather! I’m trying to set up rich pins, but I keep getting the message “Oops! Invalid scopes requested” when I try to connect my Pinterest account to my Squarespace website. In Squarepace I’m going to Settings > Connected Accounts > Connect Account > Pinterest, and logging in, like this video suggests. Any idea what’s happening here? Thank you so much!

I have installed the Pinterest app for shopify but my pins that I pin directly from my shop are not rich. It just pins the image without taking any of the metadata, title, description or keywords. But for some reason that I don’t understand Pinterest is not accepting me as a merchant. The explanation is very vague, that I supposedly am not following their guidelines. I’ve read elsewhere that it’s getting harder to be approved as merchant and that Pinterest is even taking away merchant status from some accounts. Could this have an effect on wether you are able to publish rich pins? I’m not worrying too much about the merchant status for now, I can still pin manually and add descriptions and links to my shop when I create pins on Pinterest.
