"First rap song to win an Academy award" doesn't seem like a meaningful stat for music lol
Ответитьrap is art why are they the best?
ОтветитьTitle should be in All Caps
Ответитьthis should actually be a full length movie
ОтветитьLupe’s bar on mural jr (if you don’t know what one I’m referencing please do yourself a favor and look it up) could possibly be one of the best bars ever created
ОтветитьThe most gifted rhymers of all time are the elite battle rappers from today who blow signed rap artists out the water with their ability to rhyme on spot (freestyle, schemes, punchlines, delivery, metaphors, written storytelling, etc.), many who create this art in a matter of a hours or a day.
What they do takes more talent than writing a song. Signed artists were just lucky, with a few having been signed who were actual talent (Jadakiss, Eminem, most of the Wu, and Cassidy to be exact). With all the stories of ghostwriters for major artists, it makes my argument even stronger. Suburban kids and adults changed the real perspective of what it is to be an emcee. You guys will never be able to grasp actual talent, and real talent will never make the hundreds of millions that these goofy mumble rappers make. It’s all upside down and sad to see.
My couldn’t school be this interesting
ОтветитьHow do you make a video like this and not include Aesop Rock ?
ОтветитьThis has given me such a huge new respect for rap. ❤
ОтветитьNov 29, 2023: Present
ОтветитьThey spilling all the beans now..ain't no more secrets ......at one point it was a personel thing to be a MC...now they showing how to make beats ,sample, now rhyme...maaannwe can't have nothing to ourself..without mainstream media people dissecting the culture......dissect rock,metal,edm.....dag
ОтветитьCan we get an updated series from this? I think the people need it right now.
ОтветитьYou gotta mention the goat Krs one, kool g rap, Nas, cool j, queen Latifah, lil kim
ОтветитьThey say he studies and analyzes bars but he can't spit so how you going to take anything he say for for being true when nine times 10 out of 10 get 8 up in the booth😅 the dope game hard the rap game easy don't believe me man go ask Young Jeezy🤷♂️
ОтветитьFirst time listening to mos an talib in blackstar blew my mind
ОтветитьAWESOME! ... on the Blackstar lyrics, I feel like 'past' and 'raps' were part of the same rhyme as 'mad', 'have', 'ahab', 'gas' and 'bag'... and also 'it's a verb', 'sure to hold' and 'long term' feel like another "grouping"?
ОтветитьHow she showed 2pac no love ??? Pac number 1
ОтветитьThis is too good. All of it
Ответитьi was surprised when yall brought rigamortus up
Ответить😊
ОтветитьMfdoom is wack
ОтветитьCool..
ОтветитьWhat an excellently well put together video, thanks!
Ответитьyou know how there are pople who just understand things? like Grenouille from the perfume able to give you 1000 formulas for perfume or more if you just asked, the guy from india that understood infinity, inventors that changed the entire world, composers who could listen and transcribe music on the fly, and also modify and improve, people who arent just 1 in a million, more like 1 in 100 years, i feel like DOOM is one of those in terms of lyrics
ОтветитьSitting here just learning from Gs!
ОтветитьThis is beautiful.
ОтветитьEl rap esta encima de cualquier género musical en cuestión letristica, hay otros géneros que también tienen canciones profundas, pero en el rap pasa de lo callejero hasta lo intelectual y espiritual.
ОтветитьLiked it ..learnt a lot
ОтветитьHip hop is dead!
ОтветитьIsnt it mottif? Instead of motive
Ответитьthis was when vox was good..lol
ОтветитьThis video is great. I love the way it breaks it down with the color format and tell what it is theyre doing. I do have to say though, you could have made an entire video on Em alone. What he does with words and sentences is like no other. Like, he bends the words around to rhyme with other words that normally would not work. And when you mentioned Holorime near the end, Em does that ALL the time. Its mind blowing that he can do what he does. They're all amazing though. Great vid.
ОтветитьThis is the most rewarding video on the internet.❤
I come back to it every once in a while and feel immense joy, goosebumps everytime.❤
Earl sweatshirt is so underrated
ОтветитьMorlockk Dilemma
Ответить😳WHERE IS SEAN PRICE R.I.P WHERE.. DO ANOTHA 1 😎😤🌲
ОтветитьJiddy is the jam , check it
Ответитьwell the breaks does contain puns, the variations on the word breaks
ОтветитьEventually I'll make a mockumentary of this century mail it to myself and have it copywritten when it's sent to me essentially it's all done mentally and in sequentially its exactly what its meant to be
ОтветитьMe and you are like apples and oranges, while you're calling the cops, I'm calling coroners.
ОтветитьUmm, I do this when I am bored. I am white. There is no magic to stream of thought rhymes.... Why are we trying to make heroes where there are none?
ОтветитьIf the video is implying Aquemini is superior to Re:Definition I stand in fervently in opposition. I feel Mos Def is one of those treasures who goes under appreciated akin to KRS One
ОтветитьThis was dope.
ОтветитьBiggie da goat 💯😭
ОтветитьKool Keith...nuff said.
Ответить"them county boys don't talk that well." 😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьHey, for anyone interested, a couple people have already mentioned it but there's a slight slip up when they're talking about song structure. They call a recurring musical idea/phrase a motive when it should be a motif. A lot of people pronounce the two words the same way, though a lot of people pronounce motif "moe-teef." Plus (especially in other types of music) a motif is mainly based off of notes instead of rhythm (think about the Imperial March having a strong powerful usage that we know, while also having slower choral usage with more even pulsing). Oh, and a bar doesn't have to be 4 beats, it just describes where the emphasis falls when counting. Easy slip-ups to make, don't wanna dog on them!
ОтветитьWHATS THE PLAYLIST? You mention it but don't give us a name or link?
