Well, this is the only time the first video ever I watched from a channel contain a 5 min long disclaimer. Weird but okay.
ОтветитьPre-orderd deluxe edition book 1 as you speak 😁
ОтветитьAwesome video about Vinland Saga!
ОтветитьVikings tv show haters should watch Vinland Saga if they want some real Viking action.
ОтветитьWas that... two details?
ОтветитьFun fact I didn’t think this series was gonna be historically accurate because Thorfinn was dual wielding. Legit not joking.
Ответитьalmost half of the video was a disclaimer... wtf
ОтветитьAwesome video!!! Loved how it went into the small historical details instead of covering the same large strokes that most channels focus on!
(also sidenote, am I the only one who noticed that awesome protomen act II shirt? been a while since I saw one of those!)
wow half the video was about saying ''take it with a grain of salt'', jesus
Ответить5 minutes in still haven’t heard anything about what I came for
ОтветитьGolden review!! (From head to toes) thank you for appreciate the viewer intelligence. I can't thank you enough for your time and pre homeworks And editing you put to make this
ОтветитьCame here after watching your vid on the Farm Arc. How did it go with your Masters?
ОтветитьWoah cool yorvik shoutout! I actually did some consulting for them a few years ago, making their ride more disability accessable and met the curator. Really cool people and, as a born York resident, a really cool opportunity to work with such a staple of the city!
Ответитьas a history enjoyer, i am a fan of all historical eras throughout human history including geological time periods that predates mankind, dinosaurs, multicellular life and even the earth itself!
ОтветитьIt was sonic because shanks and luffy have never met and ussop would never give luffy something important exept lies......... :D
ОтветитьIncredible. Half of this 12 minute video is preamble
ОтветитьI love videos like this, I'd love to see more about the details in S2 once that's out!
But I have to say, in my opinion, you spent way too much time in this video on apologizing about maybe not being perfectly correct at the start of the video, and then getting sidetracked in the rest of it. I can tell you're excited about the topic, and that's awesome, but getting three "little historical details"in a 12min video is a bit of a disappointment :(
Since the moment I saw the vikings didn't have horns, I knew this was gonna be very accurate. And in the latest arc, Makoto Yukimura actually took the time to investigate about the indigenous language.
ОтветитьMore please!
ОтветитьHell yeah I’d love more history videos!! And good luck on your masters paper (((:
ОтветитьMan, seeing bookwalker sponsorships always hurts, man.
I'm 898 books deep at the moment. Soon to be more.
Also, got a bookwalker notification as I was typing this lol.
Congrats on the Book walker sponsorship! Gonna pick up Oshi No Ko with your code 🖤
Ответить=)
ОтветитьI would absolutely like to see another video on this topic. The best videos are always the ones where you're covering a topic or intersection of topics where you're passionate and invested, wanting to share your knowledge with people. This strikes me as one where that's the case.
ОтветитьI would LOVE to see a similar video on Farmland Saga, this kind of content is a delight to watch!
ОтветитьThis video was such a sad waste of time. Took you six minutes (half of the freaking video) to make a half-assed, repetitive introduction, only to then analyze a measly three facts about the "historical details" of Vinland saga, except nothing was really related to the manga. Pace your videos better and have someone read your script before making a video, please.
ОтветитьAll the manga I read in high school getting popular now. Fuck yeah
ОтветитьRed bard, you’re back!
ОтветитьPlease do a medieval hygiene video someday! I wanna hear about the stank
ОтветитьI really want to see the farm arc version
ОтветитьI love Vinland Saga. I never expected a Manga set partly in my home country. When one of the characters said "I have a plan. We must go to Odense." I was estatic! I've lived there! I've also visited Jelling, so I can add my own small detail: Jelling has no coast like in the manga. It's nowhere near a body of water large enough for boats like we see depicted. It did have a large bridge, but that was not near the town centre, but some miles outside the city.
ОтветитьI love Vinland Saga, it's a love letter to Viking History and my god am I hyped for Season 2 (Praying MAPPA doesn't rush it and mess it up)
ОтветитьVinland Saga started airing at the same time I was listening my way through Bernard Cornwell's The Last Kingdom (audio)book series. They're a century or so offset IIRC but it was still a really interesting parallel, I feel like it increased my appreciation of both series.
ОтветитьHoly crap you’ve really outdone yourself with this video!!
ОтветитьVinland Saga is so good!
ОтветитьI'll be honest I wasn't expecting to see footage of the Jorvik centre in a Vinland Saga video, takes me back to when I was a bairn!
ОтветитьWatched the anime when it was added on Netflix so I decided to read where the anime left off since my high school library acquired them and I think their new
Was literally shocked to see uncensored full on breasts in the manga
Love the story so far
When I hear "Vinland" I think of the Type O Negative flag of the fake country. :)
ОтветитьAs a little Danish viking, it's really nice that someone seems to actually care about us and our history. Watching viking media often feels more like a charicature created by someone who's only heard secondhand retellings, rather than someone who actually knew what they were doing...
ОтветитьOne of the underrated things i love about vinland saga is how much the background work of women is presant- especially weaving and spinning! People dont realise but before mechanical looms all cloth was made by the labour intensive (womens work) of weaving and spinning by hand. The labour required was constant, and had an enormous impact on both the family and the overal economy. Despite the prologue arcs focus on war, one of the striking things about the way women are portrayed is that looms and spinning wheels or hand spinners are rarely far away. Its treated as a background detail, but it really shows his care for the craft- because most shows and comics dont bother, and just think of medieval life as modern life woth funny clothes. Or worse- they treat fabric craft as a stand in for 'frivolous womens work' thats beneath the main characters notice or abilities (when actually your brave warriors would all be dying of frost bite without the women spinning and weaving at the looms).
Idk, it just makes the world feel so much more real and cohesive, because no matter how powerfull a main character is the seeds still need to be sown, grain harvested and ground into flour, and the wool spun and woven into cloth. Hell, that the point of the entire second half of the story- that for all the war and glory surrounding the soldiers, thet are nothing but a nasty disruption to the neccersary work of actually surviving and living in the world day to day. And even right at the begining the work of living is always present and shaping the story. Its great.
Appreciated that brief So Sejima joke.
ОтветитьHonestly, you could make a video that's just about actual Medieval British history and I'd watch that lol. It's an interesting time period, and listening to people who are passionate and knowledgeable about it is great
Ответитьholy shit this script reads like a middles schooler stretching for the word count on an essay! half the video was just saying "it can't be 100% accurate" and the other half was dedicated to a box and a fucking comb. big woop!
Ответить
