Linksys WRT 3200 ACM - Future Proof Router?

So tired of this router!!!!
It’s shit!!! Unstable, keeps disconnecting devices and the app shows different device connected.
It’s FAST I give it that!
Changed my old apple router with this and now I regret 👎🏻

I've used them all. AIn't no router work's "flawlessly". It works flawlessly... until it doesn't.
Especially, when you're setting up building to building 80mghz bridges in an industrial or farm environment on the sides of building or mounted to poles under 5 gallon buckets protected from the rain but open to a huge range of temperatures.. from freezing to baking in the hot sun.

I bought 5 WRT1900Acs off ebay to make 2 VHT80SGI client bridges and have one back up and the 5th one ended up being one of these by seller mislabeling.

Worst WiFi speeds on this router.

Hertz not hurt.

the power, online, and ports plugged with ps4 , printer and computer work.... but no 2.4 or 5 light is coming on... any tips for trouble shooting. already did the reset and turn off and on process.

ITS ALL A SCAM!!!!! most people have a basic cable hookup and no matter how great the equipment, their isp speed SUX & unless they want to pay a fortune in monthly service fees, they will Never come close to the equipment potential..ie...SCAM!!!!!

I've read SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MANY NEGATIVE CUSTOMER REVIEWS for this router over the years. It's an old router now and one would have hoped that all the issues were ironed out by now, but I have not seen ANY/ENOUGH positive results recently relating to this router to persuade me to give it a chance.... Most common problems were that of dropped connections, DOA.

First thing I did was flash it with DD-WRT. After that I never was able to successfully connect any device to Wi-Fi. No phone, no laptop. DD-WRT, this router or both suck right out of the box. However the wired network worked okay.

I was suggested this router because I'm looking for a way to have my VPN run across all my wireless devices. Is this capable of having a VPN on and how do I do this?
If not can anyone recommend a good VPN router that has the option to change VPN providers please.

I found this router link speed half of my wrt1900acs. I don't see a good reason to buy it. The link speed on my WRT1900acs is 1.3 gbps, where the WRT3200acm has 585 mbps

I have Comcast modem that I only use for gaming and watching movies on my Android TV box and my kids playing games on there phones so will this work for me

To clarify, your testing device tops out at Wireless N 5Ghz? What's the point of testing with that? You'd get a better idea file transferring with your smartphone than that Apple device. To me, that's akin to reviewing a new flagship GPU but only at 1024x768 resolution. Pointless. You need to be able to at least see the potential.

It is a awesome WR, i have one issue with it, some of my devices get kicked off! And i have to reconnect them, does anyone have a idea why that happens? I will appreciate the support thanks....

why no esata or usb benchmark?

This router is overkill for today's standards. I'm using D-Link DIR-868L Wireless AC1750 on 1 Gbps fibre plan and I'm only getting around 500 mbps download and 400 mbps upload on my late 2013 macbook pro retina 13" over wifi.

What is the point in getting a router that supports 433mbps or more if my internet can only at best be up to 60mpbs, or if I live in a more urban area, 250mbps?

Hey Waj, no one will be able to get speeds of 2600 Mbps on this router, since that counts using all three MIMO streams at once, which no device can do, (and possibly never will do). The maximum speed you can get is 867 Mbps, just like the max of most other routers on the market today.

That being said, I love this router, I recently got it. Its simply the best on the market, and the best for OpenWRT.
