couple issues:
1) Matic is in fact anethereum ERC-20 token. The master contract is an ethereum contract. the polygon matic version is the derivative version that is bridged over from Ethereum to the polygon chain. But literally matic is an ethereum token......

Contrast this to Binance, BNB is a binance chain bep token, not an ethereum ERC20 token. BNB master contract is not an ethereum contract any longer, but a binance contract.

2) staking for POS polygon, literally resides on ethereum, not on Polygon chain. Again, contrast that to Binance, zero binance staking on ethereum.

Then the literally most important thing:

3) If Ethereum Halts......
you got it, Polygon halts as well. This is because Polygon is literally part of ethereum.
Versus Binance chain which would not stop.....

Interesting areas:

Arbitrum, Optimism, polygon all bridge tokens to and from ethereum. likely all are multisig controlled? this seems really hazy area.

Arbitrum, optimism, all have centralized sequencers. Polygon sequencer appears to me to be in it validator set, so to me appears actually more dentralized than optimism arbtrum?

Have not fleshed out the "interesting areas" the "inherit the security of ethereum" mantra.... leaves a lot to be desired, and almost appears misleading.... heresy I know.

My wild assed guess gestalt is, polygon is actually the first layer 2 chain of ethereum. stack up the contracts, the bridges, the checkpointing.....

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Mainly because few care what I think. Let me count! Nope, that would be no one! I don’t even care what I think!

That said, I believe I’m moving in a completely different direction than most in the digital asset community’s. But, if I can count on anything, it’s CTO’s analysis. Sound actionable data! Not advice! Period!

Decentralized economics is the future & where all of my time & resources are directed. Only because I’m one of those silly people that believes personal freedom is critical to realizing one’s full potential in a carbon unit’s short lifespan! If it’s not founded on decentralized principles, technology & platforms, I’m not paying much attention to it. I’m sure anyone on this comment string knows what that means in terms of the investment of time & resources.

I work in Dubai. And I have business connections in Mumbai. Corporate side.

I will say this, I've had a few people approach me to try and convince me to invest in Matic. None of them could give a clear summary of what I'm investing in and how its supposed to pay up. Where is the interest? Why isn't it adding up? I asked questions. They don't have answers.

And I've rumors that Indian businessmen, politicians, and businesses are using Polygon to launder their money. The Polygon company grows like clockwork, and its corporate side has no ebbs and flows. And that's weird for any business, not just crypto.

I don't know anything for sure. I could just be paranoid and wrong. But in my opinion, it just looks untrustworthy. Proceed with caution.
