I lived on Minetta Lane and W4th in the 1990s and early 2000s. There was not a single flood there of any significance for years. This weather is the result of geoengineering experimentation and tampering with the climate systems. Wake up people. There are corporations making money screwing with the weather regardless of the consequences to the average person on the ground. If a disaster ensues, they just tell the media to blame the weather, an act of God. Really these arrogant fools are tampering with the moisture cycle in our weather. So they can profit from it. Harvard has a school dedicated to "Geoengineering." We need to stop acting like passive respondents and start to demand an involvement in the governance of these technologies on a local level where we live. It is real folly to abnegate local control to a bunch of vague "globalists" claiming they have to implement drastic experimental "solutions." Extreme weather events have been caused by the normal weather being modified by technologies designed to do just that. Probably climate change is real also. There are likely real problems caused by pollution. But how can anyone believe what so-called climate science claims when (a) the voice of "climate science" is made up of investment, corporate and academic interests who build their careers and profit from climate related technologies. (b) these "scientists" deny physical evidence which has shown continuous runoff and contamination from geoengineering chemicals and minerals, evidence of tampering with moisture cycles, and the activities corporations and even smaller LLCs which are devoted to weather technologies. These toxic pollutants are constantly added to the already polluted air we breathe. No one will know what the heck is going with the climate on until there is transparency regarding military industrial profiteers attempting to implement weather modification technology.

And why is this happening? Because most humans cannot stop their insatiable appetite for the dead and decomposing body parts of animals. Animal ag is more destructive than the pollution caused by trains, cars and planes COMBINED. Brainwashed meatards are directly responsible for this. Be kind, be vegan, or the prophetic end of the first Planet of the Apes movie will come true. How telling that image, the statue of ‘liberty’ floating in the flood. If you’re not prepared to extend liberty to animals, then YOU are responsible.

NYC collects insane property taxes. It should be responsible for inspecting and keeping clear of garbage its drains. Nobody is doing anything. The city is packed with garbage.

Singapore has been doing this DTSS (Deep Tunnel Sewage System) for years to build a massive underground tunnels to direct the rainwater from drains to the sea..
This is not something you can do in a few years..
Things like rising sea levels also need to be planned and measures like Sea walls or alternatives need to be studied and planned years ahead of time

Minetta Lane was originally Minetta Creek, Canal Street was originally a canal, and Prospect Park Lake was a real lake fed by streams from Bedford Stuyvesant and Bushwick, and that is why it flooded after several days of heavy rain.

I used to live in NY and I can say that many of that city's flood problems have to do with plugged up sewers; stopped up with garbage and other debris, that effectively prevent the natural drainage of rain and other forms of precipitation.

This to a large extant is ignored by those responsible and even encouraged by those occupying upper rungs of the political ladder, so that when floods occur, they can mount their favorite hobbyhorse and blame it all on "Climate Change"!

We may therefore, expect more such floods in future.

Before the island was inhabited by the Dutch, there were many natural features to the land such as wet lands, trees, rivers, and lakes. When industrialization came, everything was covered with concrete, no more exposed soil for water to be absorbed. And there were no more trees. That’s just one problem. The others are the fact that drainage in New York City gets blocked by garbage. And now increased rainfall from storms worsened by global warming.
