Responsive design is an approach to building websites that respond and adjusts optimally to the browsers or devices from which they are accessed.Today with the growing number of users accessing websites from devices and mobiles, the need for a website that works across these platforms is a felt need.

You can design separate versions of the website for each device. This would mean maintaining different code bases. You would also be unsure if the targeted set of devices cover the whole gamut of devices available today. The Responsive approach helps us to support any and all devices from a single code base and easy to implement to function in devices with least capability.

What does responsive design mean in the Drupal context? The Drupal 8 mobile initiative is dedicated towards making Drupal a responsive CMS. The initiative will ensure all Drupal core themes are responsive and Drupal has a mobile friendly admin interface. In Drupal 7 there are host of modules and themes that support and facilitate building of a responsive sites using Drupal.

In this seminar, I will walk you through key aspects of Building a Responsive Drupal site in Drupal and understanding responsive design in the Drupal context.
