This is great!
Just got it working on my new Steam deck.

I would love a video on configuring punctuation and grammar if you figured it out.

I had it working when nerd-dictation was in my home directory. Now that I have moved it to the .config I can't get it to work.
python3 nerd-dictation begin  ✔
python3: can't open file '/home/chris/nerd-dictation': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

it should be looking in /home/chris/.config/nerd-dictation. Unsure how to get the command to work now that I have moved it.

After seeing the repo URL for nerd-dictation, wonders if Blender being in your tool list is more than just conscience. 🤔

The down side of using literal words to place punctuation is it can't truly know whether you want the real word or not.. e.g., "This is the fourth game." vs. "This is the fourth game period." (this-is-the-fourth-game-period---period). Perhaps a better option is to use made up "words" that doesn't really correspond to anything real in the given language.. maybe Pah and Quah, for period and question mark.

I think this is great but it works only with mic as input, right ?
Do you know how to configure a 'virtual audio cable' on Linux, so I could feed this transcriber with an audio file for example ?

Great video! Thanks for putting this up. I was wondering how you set up integrated nerd-dictation into neovim?

Do you know if you can pass an .mp3 or other type recorded audio and have nerd-dictation convert that file to text? Or is it only live via screen?

I love the idea of this, but when I try to 'quit' my dictation... HOW?! Maybe I missed some very important part on the Git page but I would love to know how to to end dictation but it just keeps typing. well, and displaying what i'm cursing LMAO Because I'm frantically trying to stop the typing XD
I ended up having to reboot to stop the dictation when I was testing the dictation because I couldn't figure out how to quit out. if I set a keybind instead, that'd fit my workflow better but I run KDE, not Gnome. I know where to set my custom keybinds but what do I type to refer nerd-dictation? Thank you for this, and for any help !:D

I commented earlier, but I don't see my comment now.
Thanks for this video. I've played with mozilla is deep speak in the past, but it always seemed kind of bulky and slowly me. although i never did try setting a to use the gpu rather than a cpu. this seems like a simpler solution. in fact i already have it up and running and i'm writing this comment using my voice, which is why nothing seems to be capitalized. 😄

this will definitely be useful for me, and i already have it set up where the keyboard shortcut to turn it on and off.

Yes you are good! The problem here is us fairly newbies do not have a clue what you just said and do. Our heads are still a bit to flat. Would it be possible to make a video how to step by step. Show what to type and install the commands etc. Yes a lot of work but for newbies this would be a good learning experience.
Thanks a lot.
