What is History? Can you be a Historian?

In Middle English it was not differentiated from story (n.1); the sense of "narrative record of past events" probably is first attested late 15c. The modern meaning "recorded events of the past" is from late 15c., as is use of the word in reference to a branch of knowledge. The meaning "a historical play or drama" is from 1590s. ; Today though it is among the Italia philosophy's like math, science, theology so forth so on. Most of what exists today though is loosely based on evidence alot of is made up & does not follow actual reality. Unfortunately & those are the ones we learn in schools. :( His Story. Meanwhile our story is forgotten & hidden.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and courageous expression of opinion, I couldnt agree more! As a former Uni student of history I left school because frankly, I felt I could work in the field without the expensive PhD under my belt, and I currently am. I think school is wonderful and necessary for many but the findings you share here in this video are things I’ve also found to be true within the traditional school system while pursuing a “degree in history”. There is no standard, no measure across the board of quality and that does not make someone with a PhD a better historian than say, someone who has devoted their life to a particular focus of study and then shares that with the public (and of course cites sources accurately too). Thank you so much for this! It feels good to know I’m not alone out here in this world…
