Got to admit, he wants the world because he and his friends could never have the world they actually lived in. Which is better? A world of polution where yoy obey all the laws without the beauty of the world, or the virtual now real world where you have the literal ppwer to change things, enjoy with the rest of your friends in a beautiful and fantastical world?

So it means ainz didn't realize the real world is unsustainable to live because of pollution and the mega corporations meanwhile ainz keep acting villain in the virtual world without knowing the truth.

once you know all the dark lore behind overlord it becomes much darker than if you had just watched the anime (which is how i watched the first three seasons-i knew none of the lore behind it at first) and its so much better when you know it, this is why its my favourite anime which ive watched 8 time over now just because the lore behind it goes so deep (i really need to read the light novel and other things cos theres so much that isnt explained in the anime that you could probably make a whole extra season because it)

The fact that 1/4 of the facts is about the reality of Satorus world makes me ponder if he was lucky or not. That's a terrible world to live in.

people often forget that the setting in the word before the isekai happen is a dystopian future...this fact is gloss over in the anime and manga, and only people who read the novel will often get reminded of this because of Ainz internal thought.

After knowing what Ainz’ real world is like, I kinda wish he could go back and conquer that world, and fuck over all the greedy bastards, like send gargantua since he doesn’t have any lungs or anything really since it’s technically not a real being but a massive golem and let him wreak havoc, then go back to the new world like nothing ever happened

The only reason I thought of this, is beacause I was reading the end of Tensura (TTIGRAAS) web novel, Rimuru, Veldora and Ramiris go to another world via portal (duh) that they researched and they save a post apocalyptic like world, and bring life to it, then just leave after like nothing happened, (well they were kinda stuck there so they just saved it while they were there)

2138 seems like the perfect place for someone to transition from human to an undead... it's not like they will miss their previous life or ever know what proper food tasted like. They pretty much escaped a joyless hell. I do wonder if Ainz will ever open up to anyone about what his old world was even like. I wonder what the floor guardians or even new world NPC's would think of it.

Jeez the "real world" of 2138 in Overlord seems to be even darker than the game world.

1500 players invaded great tomb only 300-350 players died from 1st-7th floor

The rest of the player invaders meet their end on 8th floor which most players reported the dungeon as cheat because it’s impossible to infiltrate the 8th floor by beating them. Fact check here
