If you press u in the clip you can separate the sound and the clip

Nice job! Thanks! That's how I thought it worked. I can't believe you have it's trial by error in extending the clip.

If you do time stretching on any clip & still want the audio just click on the audio itself & pull up the properties. After you already stretched the clip it should give the option to “lock to stretch”
