ASUS TUF FX505DT SSD Upgrade, Memory Upgrade, Add Hard Drive.

Hello, I have the exact same laptop. Can I use Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD (NVME) here?

Why was it missing the SATA hard drive already when you opened it? Mine has a ASU720SS 500G stock installed. Am looking to upgrade to a larger capacity hard drive but dont know how to do it w/o losing all my audio production files, pics/videos and other applicatons?
I see now. Some FX505DT came with a hard rive, other came with an SSD. I'll need to install an SSD. Do I need to re-partition anything?

I am currently upgrade my laptop with the same exact model. I'm now on the windows setup part but I'm stuck with when I turn on the laptop, it does not boot on the usb automatically and it does goes from asus logo to blue screen then off. I tried to restart and go to bios and my flash drive does not appear on the selection on boot priority. Any tips for that?

Thanks i replaced the hdd with my old ssd. The hardisk was un reasonably slow. Don't know if it was the sata port will have to check the port if it's sata 3 and check speeds tomorrow right now I'm migrating all the files

when loading in that mechanic HDD, what type of mounting screws did ye use? I know this may be a silly question but well... lst christmas, I got a 2TB SATA SSD and I just cracked open the bottom of that thing and just slot it in there... ..though, I kinda worry that just slotting it in there without mounting screws may be a bit of a detriment... so I ask, what kind of screws would be needed?

If I’m only adding an extra 2.5 1tb ssd to the empty unused bay all I have to do is initialize it? The OS will be untouched? I don’t mind keeping the base hard drive for now. I just wanna have the 1tb to hold games and the 256gb hard drive that came with the laptop for work/school

Can't see exactly where to insert the RAM. Does it go immediately beneath the gray gross bar, or does it somehow insert between 2 banks of the gold colored connectors that are below the cross bar?

The thermal pad is useless without a heat sink. It actually might increase the temps of the NVME, not something that would be detrimental, but not needed. Great video though.

Hello sir I followed your guide and I now have successfully upgraded mine's RAM to 32 gigs

I have a question though why is it that the keyboard LED lit up when I plugged the battery in? When I unplugged the battery I also pressed the power button a couple of times but when I put it in the first time the keyboard LED lit up despite not being turned on at all like no fans no disks running, etc

Turns out I only plugged in one side in successfully and when I pushed it further in the LED turned off and I could turn on the laptop again

Though Im not sure if this really is the cause for the keyboard lighting up or not so Im curious what are your thoughts on this?
