The Spiderwick Chronicles was my CHILDHOOD 🥰

I bought the Spiderwick Chronicles and Beyond Spiderwick books for my Christmas haul last year. I read the first book of Beyond Spiderwick Chronicles and loved it so much that I needed to find the whole series! I hope to get to them soon. I didn't enjoy the movie much, though. We shall see how I feel about the rest of the books.

Unrelated to the books themselves, but "The Umbrella Academy" season 2 was almost as good as season 1, but I felt like season 3 had waaaaay too much going on. All seasons of "Locke & Key" were great, though.

I am a bit late with this, but have you read Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan? I think you might like it. It also has some fun recipes throughout the book.

I was so sure you would recommend a book from Caroline Kepnes to pair with You, since she is the author of the book that inspired the tv show ^^' Glad you didn't though because I just added For your own good to my tbr!

Another book recommendation I think would fit The Magicians is A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik! It's a magical school that is on the darker side and the students have to fight monsters. So so good! Also the audio book is amazing

They are making a new Spiderwick Chronicles and should be out in 2023. I think it might be a show.

On my last day of quarantine with covid. I had same issue with losing smell and taste for at least 24 hrs but then it came back. But before that it would go in and out. Fatigue, chills, and lingering cough. Not fun to go through while pregnant in 1st trimester but survived. Thank you for documenting because I was wondering about my symptoms but sounds like they were all pretty normal and consistent with the virus. Hope your mom started feeling better!

If you like Bridgerton, I highly recommend The Season by Sarah Maclean.
Also, If you love Heartstoppers, I think you like the manga (and anime) Given.
If you the macabre types of books, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a great book series, but you may also like The Last Monster by Ginger Garret ( it gives thriller vibes more than horror). Also The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and The Books or Elsewhere series by Jacqueline West are great.

For people with powers I recommend Cat Girl’s Day Off by Kimberly Pauly, The Extra Ordinary Adventures of Ordinary Boy by William Boniface, and Saavy by Ingrid Law.
Another book that is a mix of sci-fi, mystery, and just a smidge of period and futuristic thrillers is Warp by Eion Collifer

FIRST SEASON OF THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY IS THE ONE, I started the second season but quickly became disappointed. It made me so sad, it was nothing like the first one and not even close to be as good

“You” actually began as a book. It’s by Caroline Kepnes. It’s fabulous. I highly recommend you pause your watching of the show and read it before you watch any further. The Umbrella Academy began as books as well - comics.

I think Lock Every Door by Riley Sager would work well with Only Murders in the Building. It's set in an old New York City appartement complex just like the show and has weird disappearances. Loved it.

You should check out the Baking Championship series. There’s Kids Baking Championship, Spring Baking Championship, Halloween Baking Championship, and Holiday Baking Championship. Everyone gets along, no trash talk. It’s on food network and Discovery streaming.

You is based on a book with the same name. I read the book before the show came out and it was great. Written in a unique way and very interesting. But I didn’t like the show, it’s not as good as the book. I highly recommend reading the book but I don’t recommend the sequel book, it lost the magic that the first book had.

Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy is TOP TIER. Season 3 is also soooo good. They won’t let you down!
