AllAttack, I am watching from Metro Manila, Philippines. Thank you so much for the basic tutorial. I learned a lot from you. Soccer is not so popular in my country since we have a few or sometimes no soccer courts in our communities. Although most large universities have their own courts on their campuses. The average Filipino height is from 5' 6" to 5' 8", but ironically, basketball is the most popular sport here since every village or Barangay has its own Standard (infrastructure provided by the Local Government) or improvised court by the residents. Maybe it's because of the ubiquitous courts that made basketball the favorite sport of Filipinos. . . I am just curious to know how to play soccer for me to appreciate more in watching it. I have never experienced playing it even during my college days. Swimming and badminton were my favorite sports and P.E. Subjects. My Swimming Instructor offered me an Athletic Scholarship but I declined it for having no extra time for practice and competition since I was a working student then. She was the sister of a professional basketball player in my country. She said my swimming movements were speedy and graceful especially when I did the shifting from freestyle to backstroke. Oh! I really love swimming to date. It keeps my body trimmed and healthy.

I grew up with activities where injury was normal. I am new to pickup soccer and playing with guys who have never done anything more physical than soccer. I play aggressively, but not fouling anyone. No one is as physical as I am, but two guys think I am too physical, just because they didn't play that way growing up. Everyone else, while not as physical, agrees that I am not fouling or breaching etiquette. I don't mind toning it down to keep everyone chill, but it's so unnatural for me. And I don't know how I can steal the ball without pressing. Any advice?

Another thing i realized is after almost a year of playing football. People are selfish and wont pass to you especially if you’re new. Learn a few skill moves and how to run with the ball so you can beat a defender 1 on 1. Another tip once you get better is be kind give the new kid on the pitch the ball a few times. If it wasnt for my friends passing to me on the pitch a lot i prolly wouldn’t have wanted to continue playing football
