Christ is dead. Christianity wont wake him up. War never stopped and it has been raging on for 2000 years. Ever since monotheism declared that polytheism is atheism and sacrilege when it is in fact the other way round. The place of the idea of monotheism resides in the futhest region of Hades. All the tortured souls (painters, musicians, artists of all kind) were the victims of this phenomena. You shouldnt be sorry for their tormentors. Antichrist comes from the idea that is different from the antiartistic conception of monotheism and its alternations. Christ did not accepted all of our sins. He paid the ultimate price for offending the gods. Monotheism is not a sign of evolution of human thought or religion. It is rather a sign of degeneration of art through the exploitation of the human potential. Nietzsche's idea that the will of the individual to be exploited is something to be cherished was maybe wrong, but he still predicted the rise of the mob. Mafia controls the church. Christianity was the first who painted the devil on the wall. Do not be deceived for there is no satanism.

When I was child Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raffaello seems to me like deities, something too big or not really existed.
I couldn't really get a proper idea of them.
Now it's a little bit different. But still I am always moved by the biography of these geniuses.
P.S. There was a french man that visited Michelangelo when he was trying to finish Pieta' Rondanini. When he entered in his home he couldn't believe at what he was watching. Michelangelo was so fast in sculpture that for a moment he believed there were 3-4 persons together that were sculpturing! Michelangelo was very old, but he kept on his last work until 2-3 hours before his death.

You’ve moved me to tears with your explanations. I’ve always known him to be one of my favorite artist in history, amazed by his work but could never fully explain to those around me why he was so amazing. You’ve perfectly assembled the verbiage needed to do so. Absolutely breathtaking knowledge you’ve bestowed on us. God bless you. ❤ God bless you.

I was in Europe this Summer and I watched your video on Rome while waiting in line for the Pantheon. It enhanced my appreciation for the city so much while I was there! I was so excited to walk around it with all the context. I just finished watching this video and it honestly blew me away. I thought I knew about these works when I saw them in Florence and Rome. My eyes have been opened, this was so extremely fascinating and you presented it perfectly

I saw the Pieta before all the safety barriers were up... We were in Rome for a week, but my friends just let me be in front of the work!!I cried and cried at the perfect beauty of it .The hand of the Christ ,and the sorrowful face of His mother just kept me entranced....
To this day,it is to me as if I am still standing there ........

Thanks for this insightful introduction to the genius of Michelangelo. I am from Rome and I have seen his masterpieces multiple times. My favorite of them all is the Sistine chapel, every time i visit it, even with all the crowd of tourists, it is a magical experience. The sheer power of the images and figures he was able to conceive is still there. Yes, I would say that his masterpieces are not beautiful, they are powerful, unforgettable, unique. Another Italian artist that to me was able to bring power to his masterpieces is Caravaggio, another genius. I love them both.

Beautiful and impressive work all the explanation about Michael Angelo. Readers of the Hebrew Bible immediately understand that "the horn of his face" has nothing to do with the horns that come out of the forehead... Only Hebrew readers can receive the exact transmission of the language in which the Bible was delivered.

Only by being in front of an extraordinary work of art such as “La Pietà” or Michelangelo's “David”, can one somehow understand the greatness, the extraordinary art there is in an artist of out of the ordinary. And I had the opportunity to admire such unique works of art in the world, standing directly in front of them.

Great episode. Michaelangelo is second only to Vermeer for in art. One aspect you spoke of was the 'horns of Moses'. I had seen in other interpretations that the horns was interpreted literally by Michaelangelo but was a description of white streaks in his hair after seeing God. That was how the other interpretations saw the reasoning for Michelangelo's concept. I had not heard your interpretation of the horns before but is compelling. I can see how both concepts could be in play here for the Moses. Well Done.
