What a pity Land Rover don't give you a Faraday wallet for your key when you buy the car. The fact is Land Rover don't give a shit about car security, the more that get stolen the more they sell. They don't even give a shit about car safety. There a bunch of wankers.

My dealer has advised not to fit a ghost because of issues with battery drainage and warranty be void if the ghost is causing the battery to drain

Faraday box = a simple normal thickness steel box. I am surprised how people can afford Range Rovers and be unaware of the simplest physics knowledge.

Forget those steering wheel locks. Thieves LAUGH at them. A well designed, properly installed, immobilizer is the best form of defence (as long as the owner USES it!).

My 2002 SL55 AMG had keyless entry 21 years ago.
I used to keep keys in metal biscuit tin before deciding to disable the keyless function altogether in 2004.
It's an unnecessary gimmick.
How lazy have we got that we can't be bothered pressing a button ?😂
I still have the Merc and no one has stolen it because I also fitted a secret switch which disables the fuel pump............more secure than any Ghost system which can be hacked.

Put it in a garage?

Tell you what we did.
Get gates on the drive.
Put a massive bike chain around gates.
Put on a side slide padlock.
Fit a security post.
All in all it cost me £150.

What was matter with the old fashioned key

Ghost immobilizer box or pouch and turning off the keyless system are a good combination to use these days.

First step is to spend $8 for a driveway monitor. Any one comes into your driveway will sound an alarm. I have videos of these guys coming around my house early morning tripping off the alarm then running away.

May I suggest that there is a point your missing, when your driving you car, if your keyless entry is in a faraday pouch you cant drive your car, so while your driving, your zapper is active all the time, a person surely only has to drive alongside you, to get the signal ?

I see cars with steering locks on the road, this does make the car unroadworth. The vehicle has to be fit to drive when parked on the road.

The pouch only lasts about 12 months. Recommend you check they are still working regularly. Just take the pouch with the key in and try to open the door.

You can turn the ‘keyless entry’ off on many newer Kia models as well. Slightly different method, lock the car using the key fob ‘lock’ button, then hold down both the ‘lock’ and ‘unlock’ buttons together and the mirror amber lights ‘flash’ 4 times. The keyless is now disabled, and you will have to now use the fob unlock button to open the car, which will also re-enable keyless.👍
