A lot of the photos that are claimed as death photos are not. A lot of photos of children with their eyes closed are not dead, they are asleep, as a baby that was asleep tended to stay still. Also, if they are standing they are not dead, the frames shown are not strong enough to hold a dead body, but just to hold living people still.

Hey Joe, before Victorian, sewage systems were in place in the Indus Valley civilisation. Possibly indoor toilets too.

At that time England was probably the wealthiest country in the world. And yet they let their own citizens starve to death on the streets if they were from the lower "class". Right up until the 20th century, England was a horrible country.

This makes sense why our great grandparents raised kids or were raised to be depressed, detached sociopaths and that carried on to every generation until millennials started started waking up and realizing that therapy is must.

Can we bring back the 4 penny coffins lol. That’s in my housing budget and I don’t have to clean afterwards. Looks like it was patrolled too. Probably safer than what I can afford now too. All that without having to have homeowners/renters insurance. AND I don’t have to fight insurance companies after hurricanes!

Yeah. Bring it back lol

Listen, back then, parents gave literally zero F's about their kids and their kids knew it. Those babies did not move because their parents told them prior, they only had a 40% chance of survival, and unless they wanted to odds to further diminish, they better STFU and sit still 🙂

I do not have brit ancestry however some of the mentioned superstisions were shared by my grandma, if you turn your shoe upside down and leave it that way, your mom will die, she said that her grandma would only name a kid after the 7th birthday and she used a strange wording, she said when you know a kid will "avenge", which makes no sense in portuguese as it does in english, but it kinda does when you think about it.

Resurrectionists. Those are my favorites. Grave robbing in the name of science... I've thought about this long and hard and I don't begrudge the practitioners. Especially the poverty-stricken sods who were employed and risked their necks for it. Because a lot of those necks snapped on ropes.

Sorry put last comment on wrong video That deworming you mentioned has Saves millions of lives from malaria and other parasites The vaccine isn't a true Vaccine It doesn't keep you from getting Covid just makes people less sick They even changed the definition of vaccine to make it fit the pharmaceutical companies definition for this one vaccine

Great stuff! Would love a video on all the stuff the Victorians made up about paganism. A lot of what people believe are ancient pagan rites and customs was apparently made up by the Victorians, who made up sources which are still alive and kicking today!

This is the first video of yours I've seen so you might already have looked into this. Anyways, really enjoyable video. Great job!

I am SUPER late to this but I collect and study antique photography and a lot of post-mortem photography is misidentified. If the subject is standing, it is guaranteed they are not dead. Have you ever tried getting a corpse to stand naturally? It's impossible, and a stand wouldn't support them without being seen. It just wouldn't look right even if you did somehow manage it. Remember as well that after 24-36 hours, you don't have a nice stiff mannequin corpse- you have a relaxed, floppy, decomposing corpse. You couldn't stand a corpse in secondary flaccidity even if you tried. If they're standing, even if you can see something that looks like a body stand (it's to keep folks still during long exposures)- that's a living person!

Lovely description, the graphics were enjoyable too. The birth pangs analogy was excellent. We do need to be so careful about media and information.
I'm glad the infant mortality issue was addressed, though I'm pretty sure that affected life expectancy as well (you have to consider outliers when calculating averages). It wasn't that they loved their kids any less, they were just trying to protect themselves. The natural instinct to protect yourself by not instantly and miraculously bonding immediately with a newborn has actually has been linked post-partum depression in both men and women. I'm not saying post-partum is not a thing, I'm just saying that this is a contributing factor because new parents sometimes judge themselves for not instantly falling in love and think something is wrong with them, either creating the problem or exacerbating it into a worse situation than it would have been. Please seek support if you're having any feelings that you're struggling with. There are so many resources and communities out there that can help!
Another interesting related fact for you: The death mask of the young woman also went on to become the model for the CPR training dummies, contributing to the saving of millions lives.
Also, the feet first thing for removing bodies of the deceased from homes started with the Romans for those same reasons.

Ivermectin is an FDA approved drug for humans and long has been. I've been filling it for humans via a pharmacy for 20 years.
It shouldn't simply be called a "horse dewormer" as a scare tactic by uneducated (voluntarily or out of ignorance)media whether one does or doesn't think it should be used to treat covid (I assume that's your reasoning). It's misinformation and should be treated as such. I guess the misinformation hunt by social media is highly selective.
There are also animal formulations to treat non humans. A simple Web MD or AMA lookup will tell you this. Which would imlpy that the formulation given to humans is not the same as that given to animals
You're just selectively believing the media here. That's surprising and disappointing.
