How to PASS your Lorry driving test- Secrets, Tips & Tricks!

Just passed my class 2 driving test first time and that video helps a lot with it as i was referring myself to some of the stuff I’ve heard in it and it helped me.😀

I have my class 1 test in 4 days, I’m terrified but somewhat confident but just don’t do good on tests

Driving with the GPS on is the easiest cuz the information of your route is at yr hands way before any of the turns arrive, it’ll also tell details about which lanes are safe to be in for driving towards your destination. Driving with an examiner is the hardest thing unless of course if u’ve already been driving a truck 2-3 years on the road prior to your assessment drive. The assessment needs to be real world but it’s more of “ideal world”. That’s why I think that most new drivers drop even before getting into a job. The real world trucking is way different and more accurate than ideal world driving cuz it’s the real world drivers on the roads out there.

ive watched this video many times before my test and surely it has helped me tremendously especially with me being a person which needs to know ahead of time how things work to some degree to feel comfortable in a new situation , Now I am 6 months in on my first job and I am so happy with the outcome and my choices towards this job. thank you guys for putting this material out here for us new becoming drivers :) all the best to you !

Very good video when you want to start your course please choose correct company recently I was paid £3000 to Rochdal LGV Driver training just received one CPC this company is work like that so be careful of finding the right place.

I am slowly loosing hope and confidence. Failed 1st attempt-1 fault- observation on round abouts, 2nd attempt failed 1 fault- responses to traffic lights...

Everyone here who passed first or 2nd time did you guys go for 5 days or 10 days training?

I already got my certificate for reversing and was told I won’t be doing this on my test, is this true?

Just taking my class 1 in the UK. The hardest thing I have found is knowing when to straddle lanes at a roundabout! Basically, I don't know every roundabout in the entire UK and often you don't know if you need to straddle both lanes until you sat in front of the roundabout. My local test centre has about 250 miles of test routes surrounding it and there is no way I can learn every roundabout in a 250 mile area. I see a roundabout ahead but am unsure if I need to straddle lanes. In that case I stay in the left lane and by the time I have reached the roundabout and figured out its a tight bend there is 50 cars in the right hand lane next to me. Kind of sucks! Examiners just seem to expect you to know every single roundabout you come to.

How old maximum ?

I have automatic driving licence and only can drive automatic cars ,will i be able to become lorry driver in Uk ??

I wish I was based near you guys. Your videos are brilliant, and have helped me sometimes more than my actual instructor. I had to miss my final drive and my test because of illness, and it was partly due to the constant negativity I was getting the whole week. Put my anxiety through the roof, even though I was starting to enjoy the driving itself. I've driven multiple vehicles for 20 years, have taken and passed a three week basic police response course. And for me, the biggest asset in these things is the attitude of the instructors. And your positive, calm manner in these videos is perfect. Hoping to pick up my last few hours driving elsewhere, then take the test.

Do ypu still have to do class 2 or can you go from a car licence to class 1

Completely agree with everything; the roundabout advice was especially helpful.

Started learning to drive a car September last year, passed car test (4 minors) February this year and jumped straight to the class 1 and passed (2 minors) Friday after a 3 day intensive (which was essentially a 1.5 day course as my first instructor was somewhat unprofessional).

Your uncoupling/recouping video was very helpful as I could focus on the reverse knowing I understood the principle of the coupling.

Passed 1st time yesterday with just 3 days training and with no faults atall. Thanks to the tips in this video

I left this much space in front of my truck the way this guy stopping in video but my test guy failed me for leaving this much gap

I just failed my 1st time everything was perfect apart from an artic lorry came round an s bend to fast and on my side not barely 10ft away so had to move apparently me going 10mph was to fast and I bumped the curb. Won't lie and say it hasn't knocked my confidence abit.
