I also love how they themed it after the faction that’s „space n*zis meet warcriming americans meet the British“.

Polite space fascists serving you food etc. are so weird.

They should have done an actual civilian space cruiser like the one anakin and padme took. A slightly lawless, run down look. Full of aliens and not serving droids.

For an affordable price.

That would’ve been way better

Disney really dropped the ball with Galaxy’s edge by limiting the characters to be between episodes 8 and 9. The brilliance of the wizarding world is that you can feel like your actually visiting places in the movie. Batuu? Who wants to go there?

You're in a building for two days shut off from civilization, doesn't really sound like fun. Anybody remember The Star Trek Experience at the Vegas Hilton, something like that would have been a lot better!

I wanna have a clone wars themed thing, like a laser tag game dressed as clones, but they would never do that because they didn't make clone wars.

There are so many people who look like Han Solo I am totally with you. But when Disney bought Lucasfilm they killed off all the main characters.

The sequels were objectively terrible, disjointed and illogical movies. They had basically zero world building. Who are the First Order? Didn’t the empire loose? And the resistance is only a couple ships? Isn’t their side in control? It makes no f’ing sense. It also smashed the characters we all grew up with and made them a mockery of their former glory.

Then to sell an experience to this train wreck at $3k a night was never going to work. Anyone with that sort of disposable income has zero interest in the sequel disaster.

Not that many Kids like the sequel trilogy. Toys didn’t sell. There’s hardly any merch for it. There’s barely any games based on it, and there wasn’t many kids at this year’s celebration. The Mandalorian will probably be the thing that will have more nostalgia when the young generation grows up.

Did you ever take a voyage on the Starcruiser? Did you ever experience the Halcyon? My views are my own and I do not speak for the company. But seriously you were not there you have absolutely no idea what this ship was.

It's just the price.

It's not because it's the sequels.
It's not because it's Galaxy's Edge related.
It's not because it's clean and not dirty.
It's not because of its execution.
It's not because of it's lack of Prequel and Original trilogy content.
It's not because it feels like new Star Wars.
It's not because it's Disney Star Wars.
It's not because their is no Han Solo or other Prequel/Original trilogy characters.

It's. Literally. Just. The Price.

Even Ignoring the choice to try and pretend anything before The REY didn't matter so ignore the theming if you want me to part with three and a half grand a night I expect three and a half grand of value no you got a room from a hundred a night backpackers hostel next to no complimentary food or drinks some pretty average armature dramatics , a few cringe activities and standard park access. I also doesn't help that for the same price you could het a couple of nights on a real cruise ship in a nicer room

Indeed. What's the deal with Disney's obsession with making up a park that fits in the Star Wars canon?
The rest of the parks is literally full of characters from different franchises, time periods and genres, all interacting with one another. There is an outter space GOTG attraction next to other Marvel locations from Earth.
So, yes: the Star Wars land should include as many interesting worlds and eras as possible.

They was asking double or triple the price of even Londons finest hotels not to mention that the food was just mid and the fact the rooms looked like there designer based them on a travel lodge room which is a budget chain. the lack of og characters and the hotel itself feeling more like star trek didn't help

This is a misrepresentation. I'm speaking as someone who hasn't been, but has multiple friends who have and have left crying because they don't want to leave. There are literally dozens of facebook groups with people begging to be let on others trips.

1. It was sold out with a very long waitlist. They basically created something that was too expensive for them to keep up even at the insane prices they were charging, so they had to pull the plug.

2. The influencer preview was a small fraction of what they actually ended up doing/was staged in a weird way because the hotel and experience wasn't near finished, and once it premiered the buzz was entirely positive.

3. They offer way more than what you are putting on here. With a cast of hundreds of actors, a full set of in suite AI interacting with you 24/7, and everything included.

Disney hates the fans. They've made that clear. They've gone so far out of their way to give the fans the finger. It would have been easier just to give fans what they want than what they did. Kathleen Kennedy hates men, and hated the fact that men had something they enjoyed and she is doing her best to ruin it. She succeeded in that endeavor.

I have actually experienced the Galactic Starcruiser, and almost all of the criticisms from this and similar videos really misses the mark.

First of all: it is not, nor was it ever meant to be a “Star Wars themed hotel”. What it is, is a two-day, deeply immersive live action role playing adventure, that includes all food and a place to sleep. The experience was meant for the people who want to play a two day adventure in the Star Wars universe, and for those people, it succeeds beyond my wildest imagination.

In person, the rooms feel plenty spacious, even with four adults, as we had in our group. But it doesn’t matter, since you spent relatively little time in your room, and most of your time elsewhere participating in the adventure story. Similarly, having screens that simulate the view of space instead of windows that show real outside are a major factor in preserving the seamless immersion. If you are there for the immersive adventure, this is a good thing!

And finally, the price. Everyone always says it costs $5000, as if each person spent $5000 to stay there. But that quoted price is the price for two adults in a cabin, or $2500 per person. The price per person drops even more if you have more people in your cabin. With our four person group, we only paid $1500 each for the two day adventure, with no discounts. That’s a lot to be sure, but not the eye-watering prices that people complain about, and well within reach of many Star Wars fan who could pull together a group of like minded friends to share the cost of a cabin, and to share in the adventure.

Lucasfilm when it stood by itself was using all of it's profits to create Star Wars content, maybe a couple of Indiana Jones films or others but those mostly ended up being one movie or just a franchise of films compared to Star Wars which consists of an entire Multimedia universe. Disney however decided to delete all of that and create their own thing but they don't focus all of their efforts into it. So it just ends up being used as a way of getting more money because Star Wars fans will buy anything Star Wars. Except they won't because they actually give a shit about the franchise and care when the quality of things don't come through as well. They're not going to spend a huge amount of money for a haphazard hotel that has so much potential. Lucasworld is the Star Wars theme park we deserve. Heck, 90s-2000's Star Wars is the Star Wars we deserve. Where it was an entire thing on it's own and not a side hustle to a multi-million dollar corporation.

For 5000 DOLLARS? I'd want to be at a 5 Star super hotel of relaxation for 2 weeks. Not a cramped tiny space with actors running about for only 2 days.
Like, I could find a stay at a hotel in legoland that cost literally 100 times less. Seriously, who in their right mind thinks 2 days at a cramped tiny hotel for 5000 dollars is at all worth it? You'd have to be crazy to think that is worth it.

Honestly, this place looks cool in terms of décor and ambiance and I would have gone to this hotel IF it was less expensive. The price tag was just too high and they didn't build enough value. I agree that they should have added more characters and elements from ALL the movies, which would have satisfied a broader audience. Also, if they're charging 5-star hotel/resort prices, the place should have all the amenities that 5-star hotels do. I'm in Las Vegas and we've got many gorgeous hotels here with huge rooms, spa tubs and a nice view. That's what people pay top dollar for!

People don't pay top dollar for a tiny motel room with bunk beds and an "immersive" experience. When people pay to stay at the Luxor in Las Vegas, it isn't just because it's got beautiful Egyptian theming. It's because the ROOMS are nice, the pools are nice and they've got shows, restaurants and casinos and fun things to do there. The Galactic Starcruiser Hotel didn't seem like it had enough fun activities to do. So, people were basically paying a TON of money to be locked in a cool-looking Star Wars-themed museum, not a hotel/resort. When guests got bored looking at the pretty decorations, there probably wasn't enough to do. People who pay high prices want all the bells and whistles, not a tiny room with TV screens.

Very few and I mean an extremely few people like the Disney Star Wars. I was a huge fan as an 80s kid of the original three and I honestly even liked 2 of the 3 (the second and third) prequels but the Disney Star Wars is just garbage and now that they own it I'll never give them another penny for anything Star Wars after what they did to it.
So taking and making a hotel based on Star Wars but setting it in modern Disney Star Wars with the unlikable modern Disney SW characters instead of the originals just ruined it. Hell they even ruined the original characters from Obi Wan, to Luke and Han and have even ruined the ultimate bad guy Darth Vader too. So nobody likes Disney Star Wars the few people that do like it either don't have kids to take to the park or they don't have the money to spend on the park because Disney keeps inserting politics into everything and an agenda that sane people don't want their little kids exposed to. I honestly look forward to seeing Disney go downhill, they ruin everything they touch and are nothing like what Walt had in mind, hell Walt would likely have fired all of them. So if someone could get his frozen head out and bring it to life and let him head up Disney maybe they'll save it because otherwise they are doomed.
