Dear God! This song came to my mind this afternoon and I remembered it as "Hero." I love this "older Bette Midler" version, which is so tender and from the heart. I used to dislike her singing of it in the 1980's and I repent!

she is such a good singer. Love this song we had the little tiny beaches single CD in the card flip case. This and the other 2 songs. Loved that that little CD played it and sang it with my parents ! Love Bette Midler. Went on holiday and somone had left her CD at the lodge and there was an old Hifi were singing this and from a distance all of us. Here she sings it still so well after these years, her voice has aged and of coarse its not as powerful but the emotion is there and that lacks with many singers when they sing it again and again and she still has it. You could see she was putting extra effort in at the end too as it is a tiring song especially after so many years of singing and the wear on your voice.
