Every states that receives funding from smog stations should use that for fast track researching Internal combustion to electric overhaul. That's if car manufacturers actually cared about the environment. Why else would we have such inferior emission control systems.
ОтветитьThank you for being honest giving us information, you’re awesome….
ОтветитьI get the feeling we’ll get F’d it’s to simple and the polititions are too busy being corrupt being on the take making millions to make things easy on us. Just a thought, I could be wrong…..
ОтветитьDon’t hold your breath.
Ответитьi dunno how the federal government can tell California they cant have cars smog anymore
ОтветитьSan Diego made me smog every year. Impounded both of my Subarus. The only engine I have mastered as a mechanic. This is theft. Now, I have to pay a corrupt tow company that auctioned my cars. F this state. And anyone who voted for these people. I am a disabled veteran and used these cars as my personal project to keep my mind off of work. Spent tons of time/money trying to restore it back to OEM. Because I couldn’t afford a garage in San Diego, I was forced to get Fd with no Vaseline.
Ответитьyou are correct on SB712 not helping daily/weekly driven cars.. only Collector cars only. I wish everyone will get it straight and not spread any false words that it will help the non-collector cars. SB712 will only help if you re-register as a Collector/Historical car and insurance.
ОтветитьI am a child of the 80s that grew up in Southern CA and I definitely remember "SMOG days" where the smog in the air was so bad we could not go outside to play. Schools would give us recess in the classrooms. With there now being 8x the number of cars in Cali what do you think the air would be like today if the rules were not so strict? I am well aware that factory pollution is the main cause but unless each of us has millions of dollars to bribe every politician every election, the responsibilities are going to continue to be mandated on us. I know it sucks, and every 2 years I also go through the whole parts swap process to pass smog but to 95% of drivers it doesn't make a personal difference to any of them what the smog laws are, they just go pass the test just as they would with looser regulations
ОтветитьTaxation without representation is tyranny! All these BS is nothing more than Government overreach and corruption!
ОтветитьGreat video, I love that you’re real on the expectations of law making in the country. Been here a while and have seen tons of headlines over the years of exemptions, law bills, etc. it’s all fake until the law actually happens
ОтветитьCalifornia is on and created CARB on a waiver from the EPA. If waivers are not allowed CARB will go away.
ОтветитьFirst time listener, unfortunately not terribly impressed. You're over FIVE minutes into this video and still talking about San Francisco and your girlfriend.
ОтветитьYes yes yes
ОтветитьTo be honest I don’t need smog checks to go away entirely. I just want to be able to tune my car and not be tied down to parts with a carb EO number. Main reason being Carb EO parts are conservative not just for emissions but they are built for engines with stock internals, as a matter of fact I recommend California legal supercharger kits to people with stock bottom ends because they won’t blow your engine up. But if I add forged internals and spin higher rpm it doesn’t effect emissions but the tune to change the rev limiter wouldn’t match my carb legal supercharger kit so then it fails. You can get a lot more aggressive and still pass emissions if you don’t believe me look at the OEMs pushing 700 and 800hp and passing smog. Those engines are legal to swap but they are 20 to 30k. If I do my own version of that for 10k its not carb approved, as a matter of fact if I put a gen 2 coyote engine in my gen 1 car that has a roush supercharger it is not smog legal, I would have to buy an entirely new kit. The parts are the same the only difference is the tune which i would need for the better heads and higher performance cams.
ОтветитьIn order to abolish smog in California the ag community has to ramp down to a sustainable level, seriously, in California pretty sure the central valley is feeding a gigantic portion of the globe out of this valley, its not sustainable at all, pretty much every normal thinking person except the ag community gets this. I don't think you do.
ОтветитьLaughing MAO at the people who are already deleting their diesels.
Ответитьi'm with you about not counting our chickens before they hatch, but where we are now is quite different then where we were at when prior bills were introduced. currently, we're in the lee zeldin era, and the main way that california can be constrained by the federal government is through federal supremacy. when it comes to interstate commerce (in which car regulations fall) the federal government takes precedence. if california's ability to make its own smog regulations is stripped by the epa, then they will no longer have the ability to enforce carb rules. if congress passes new regulations then it more or less becomes permanent, or at least until such time when the democrats again control senate, house, & presidency, only then would they have enough power to modify regulations preventing california from
creating its own emissions laws again. for now, i'm cautiously hopeful, but i also know that california democrats are sneaky, greedy bastards when it comes to regulating and taxing the sh*t out of californians
Smogging cars is a big cash cow for California! It's ridiculous to smog a new vehicle 2 years later with 7,500 miles on it! I am a retired 40 year auto technician. Master tech with a smog licensed since the 1970'S ASE Master. Never saw so many laws for smog in California. California wants to make the laws for their advantage. Let's take, for example of a vehicle just smogged and you decide to sell in 4 months. Believe it you have to get another smog certification. Just think the wasted time and throwing money away.. I can't wait for this bi-ennial smog program to go bye bye!!
ОтветитьDon't mix apples and oranges. Congress, the " House " and the " Senate " propose and agree on laws to be sent to the President to signed into new Laws. Don't confuse Laws, Regulations, Rules. They are different animals. Your quoting information that is not correct. Do your research before giving out partial information. The bill before congress is to retain emissions rules as a Federal Control. And removing any waivers or allowing states to set their own rules. As such the Federal Law , Regulations supercedes any states from enacting state smog laws. That is the intent in the Transportation Freedom Act.
ОтветитьIn order to become a state in the United States, you must follow the United States Constitution. Its called federal supremacy. When we’re all these bills get past, every state will have to abide these laws.
California or the other 16 states that follow California will not be able to do anything above what federal law already describes. Both Alyson Convers are run by Republicans. These bills will most likely pass pretty quick.
I agree with the industrial pollution. During the 60s and 70s there were TONS of small industrial manufacturing companies in San Francisco, Oakland, Emeryville, and in LA. ALL of them are now gone and have been gone since the mid 90s.
ОтветитьABOLISH CARB
ОтветитьCars are more efficient these days. Strict Smog laws is just redundant. They restrict innovation and manufacturing.
ОтветитьAlthough we can hope the smog laws change, I don’t see it happening. The State of California would lose a ton of money in revenue. If a bill passes and becomes law, California will simply tie it up in the courts basically forever so it cannot be implemented. If we really want to change the state for the better, we first need to change the way we vote.
ОтветитьDmv needs to be abolished
ОтветитьYou better hope this pass. If this bill does not pass, we in calif will pay more for new cars and registration. It's going to happen.
ОтветитьIf anything DMV needs to go
ОтветитьThere are good points to the Transportation Freedom Act but overall it is a terrible bill that needs major rework. It has tax benefits to automotive companies that is unacceptable, other union related sections that must go and it retains bad CAFE standards and possibly emission standards.
Ответитьif smog was going away california would of done it buy now. I doubt it's going away. california just lost it power to make more fuel efficient engines, it has to match the feds now from 52 mpg to 35mpg, and engines can contine being made pass 2035. where does it say smog is going away lol
ОтветитьFeds already have regulations. EPA killed all of. California's wavers. All states including California will now be required to follow federal law. Bills can be undone however the CRs i believe state that EPA has no ability to grant waivers or enforce which makes it impossible to go back to. California being able to regulate anything.
ОтветитьBut if you have to smog it ever 2 years whats the point of changing it ?
ОтветитьPentastar V6 Makes 300HP! bone stock.
Ответить100% C.A.R.B Will never go away because it's tied up with CHP and they will not let that power go. Trust me they will find another way to screw you over
ОтветитьThe only emissions device that engines benefited from was the PCV valve, that being before was the road draft tube to ventilate crankcase vapors from 1962 and up, the road draft tube worked in theory but ended up causing issues with sludge since the blow-by gases would react with the oil making a big mess. Once the PCV valve became mandatory, eliminated those problems.
ОтветитьSeeing is believing. We'll see what our overlords have in store for us.
ОтветитьAin't it no smog for cars made up tp 90's only
Ответитьthis is California, if anything we will get more restrictions and laws
Ответить
