this song is so beautiful but harrowing, i’m struggling with suicidal thoughts and i can’t help but feel so drawn to it

One of my friends just killed himself. He was my coworker. I had already been planning to say “goodbye” to him in a sense because he was planning on quitting on October 17th because he found a job that wasn’t completely terrible. I spoke to him on the phone 2 days ago when he called to ask about his upcoming schedule. I learned that I was supposed to close the store with him yesterday and today and was really looking forward to it because I hadn’t seen him in about a week. Yesterday came and he didn’t show up or call in. I thought that was kind of odd so I called him and he didn’t answer. At that point, I began to think he decided to quit earlier than he planned and I was honestly happy that he was out of here and onto better things. I still planned to hang out with him outside of work though so I figured I’d still see him. The today came and same thing, no call no show. Right before we left, my boss broke the news to me. I sat in my car, alone in the parking lot for about an hour sobbing. I spoke to his sister over the phone and we exchanged comforting words. She asked me if I had any pictures of him and I pretty much lost it… because one of our running jokes was that he didn’t like to take pictures, and I would always pester him about taking one with me because I love to take pictures of everything. He told me that before he left, he would take one with me when he was ready. Now I’ll never get that chance. In spite of all the horrible things going on at my work, he made it fun and was someone I could actually talk to. He was going through so much in his life and I always let him know I was there for him and encouraged him, but he always playfully shrugged me off and said it was all good… even despite everything he had to deal with, he always found a way to check on me with my, now admittedly, trivial problems. He always tried to get me to open up but I never did because honestly there’s alot that I was insecure about. I hope he didn’t take my distance as being some sort of fault of his. Just a few weeks ago, he even told me straight up “You know, I think we’ve graduated from work friends to just friends. We should hang out sometime.” I keep instinctively thinking “I wonder what he’ll think when I tell him about this” but then remember that I’m never going to see him again. It doesn’t feel real. But it is. I’m scheduled to go into work tomorrow and I have no choice because I desperately need the money. I don’t know how much longer I can stay at that place. It was already a hellhole for unrelated reasons, but now I’m not going to be able to step foot in there without thinking of him and all the memories we made there. But even though it hurts, I will never let him fade from my memory. No matter where I go or what I end up doing in the future, I will cherish our time together. Rest in peace London.

I will wake up and remember.

This song makes me feel like I'm finally not alone. It's pretty comforting.

My other half lost his grandad recently. He was just as important to me and he was to him. We had a connection like grandfather and granddaughter for seven years, sitting together drinking tea, coffee when I had time. This song is as if he is talking to me. The last valuable lesson he taught me was how fragile the lives of those around me truly are.

This reminds me of my autistic daughter. 'sing me to sleep, I'm tired and I....I want to go to bed'. It's when he sings 'then leave me alone'....it breaks my heart as that's what she says. When I sing along in the car, I can't stop from weeping, but I feel better when I stop, almost renewed.
