ОтветитьLate for School
Sam loved his warm bed more than anything else in the world. Every morning, his alarm clock buzzed loudly at 7:00 a.m., but Sam always hit the snooze button. “Five more minutes,” he would say to himself. But those five minutes always turned into thirty.
One morning, Sam woke up to complete silence. He looked at the clock and froze. It was 8:15 a.m.! 'Oh no! I’m late for school!' he thought. Sam panicked, jumped out of bed, and ran to his closet.
Sam couldn’t find his school uniform. He threw his clothes everywhere, looking under the bed and in his drawers. Finally, he found his shirt under his blanket and his socks in two different drawers. He put them on quickly, not noticing that the socks were different colors.
He ran to the kitchen, but his breakfast was cold, and his mom was not there. He took a banana, put his books in his backpack, and ran out the door. He didn’t even notice that his shoes didn’t match.
As Sam hurried to school, everything seemed to go wrong. He stepped in a puddle and got his shoes wet. Then, a strong wind blew and made his hair messy. A dog barked at him, and he almost fell over a rock. Then, he realized he had forgotten his lunchbox. “No time to go back now!” he thought.
When Sam finally arrived at school, the hallways were completely quiet. The classroom doors were closed, and his teacher, Mr. Jones, stood outside the room, looking puzzled.
“Sam, what are you doing here so early?” Mr. Jones asked.
“Early? I thought I was late!” Sam exclaimed.
Mr. Jones laughed. “It’s Sunday, Sam. There’s no school today.”
Sam looked at him in surprise. Then, he burst out laughing. “I really need to check my calendar next time!”
