That old fashioned custom of bringing food for the new pastor’s coming was called a “pounding”. Everything was sold by the pound therefore the word. My church still holds a “pounding” for the pastor.

There are so many good shows on Bonanza but this one was great. One of those moments where everybody stops and wonders if they had just been touched by the hand of God.

The fact that the two families even considered splitting the twins up was completely heartless.

Loved this episode. Wish there was still good shows like this. I think "the reverend" was JESUS because when He told Ben there are some problems we can't give away like JESUS having to be beaten, die on the cross and rise from the dead for our sins. No one else could die for our sins and be accepted except GOD Himself in the person of JESUS since none of us is sinless except GOD/YAWEH/JESUS🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

It's not like Ben to try to shirk civic responsibilities like he did in the first part.

That short snatch of (organ?) music right at the end when Ben looks toward the altar is a brilliant touch. I grew up in Sydney and the weekly Bonanza episode was a "must watch".
