Have you checked out the games Stasis and Spirits of Xanadu. I think you might like them. Especially Stasis is a rare gem of a game. Really atmospheric and outright unsettling at times.

The only thing I learned from these two videos is that "immersive sim" truly doesn't mean a damn thing.

Ok so I should've watched both parts of Rise of the indie immersive sim before leaving a comment on part 1, as 2 of the games I mentioned are listed in this video lol oh well keep up the good work

You know, I also wonder if that game Teardown that came out about a week ago counts as an immersive sim. It's all voxel-based fully destructible environments, and you get missions in each level to destroy or steal things however you can, more or less by smashing and blowing up the fastest route from A to B. That's really all it is, though.

During the last Steam festival last week, I happened upon a demo for a game called Almost Epic Adventures™: Neverlooted Dungeon, and while one game definitely isn't enough to warrant a part 3, I still feel like this one deserves to be looked at. The demo's like two levels of the eponymous dungeon, and there's no enemies to my knowledge, but instead it's stuffed to the gills with all kinds of physics-based secrets and traps that need circumventing. Sometimes they're obvious (There's a chest all by itself and the floor is covered in spike-sized holes, I wonder what will happen if I open it), sometimes they're a total surprise (There's a spring-loaded spike wall that pops up maybe once in the entire demo). Throwing rocks and moving heavy crates will get you far.

I think the demo's still available at time of writing, if anyone's interested.

Would outer worlds be considered an immersive sim. And what about other fallout/ fallout inspired games like new Vegas, the Original 2 fallout games and wasteland 3
