I am curious why they don't test rear impacts. It seems like rear impacts are completely ignored.

Best car goes to Tesla. Disadvantage of tesla I see for now are 1st the size and ground clearance. I prefer my SUV as big as crv, rav4. 2nd is price lithium too expensive.

I do wonder that if safety cannot increase anymore, yet they are spending so much money, I think it's time to switch to a different type of transportation that is much safer. Like a bike.

$80k isnt bad for an E SUV. My only complaint is that can u really call it an SUV when it still has a Sedan style trunk?

There has to be a reason no other electric vehicle manufacturer has put the battery on the bottom, perhaps because that is a place that's prone to damage when users take their cars in places they shouldn't.

I can just picture all the punctured batteries now...

Because the crash tests don't look for issues that are specific to electric cars, like batteries catching on fire and exploding violently on contact with water.

Larger vehicles are generally safer for those in them*

They’re a menace to everyone that’s in a smaller car or not in a vehicle at all

The funniest part is when you see the emergency evacuation procedure which makes it totally redundant cause even without rolling it takes someone with full dexterity so long to get out of the vehicle that should the lithium battery cells beneath the occupants ignite they will wish it had rolled and thrown them from the vehicle.

Though there is no point in buying an SUV if it can't handle going if road like those pointless SUV cross over vehicles. Unless you want an SUV for it's off road abilities they one never be as good as cars like the Falcon's and Commodore's to drive anyway as a daily driver.

So an electric vehicle having massive amount of weight added low makes it safer? Easy, gas SUVs could do same thing, just add a bunch of lead to the bottom. Lol. Also, I heard that one major issue with crash test in electric vehicles, is that the test jigs used are not up to date with the mass of electric vehicles. This means that electric vehicles will do better because their mass is so much greater. This is bad because first off, if a Tesla hits a Tesla, the outcome will be much different. Also it's bad because if the Tesla hits a gas powered car with much less mass, that has car will incur much more damage than it should and probably will result in more injuries. So saying it has great ratings is not really the whole story.
