ОтветитьWhy would I pay 200k dollars to get 4 cylinder engine car? I don't care how powerful or fast it is. 4 cylinder is for tractors. Also 4 cylinder can't handle that much power for long reliability wise

Not a fan of 4cyl high end cars but this will change many minds about it..I mean engine alone puts 467 horses.. kudos for that Mercedes..

ОтветитьYou debadged the car!! Seriously, the car may not be a true C63 but I like how AMG combined various technologies to create an immensely capable vehicle. It's astounding for what it is, meaning it's greater than the sum of its parts. But yeah, I get your point about a lack of character and passion. It does seem diminished in that respect and I also consider the 4-cylinder a sacrilege for this model. That said, it's probably the best four-banger in stock form I've ever heard. In many respects it doesn't sound like a 2.0L engine at all. I could do without pops and bangs which I finding annoying sometimes, preferring deep angry growls, which this power plant delivers in spades. My main gripe isn't so much as the replacement of the previous 8-cylinder, as it is the price for this 4-cylnder vehicle. I could never accept that regardless of performance and capabilities.

Ответитьtbh, even today after an year, I get it why sone people would buy a C63 with the 4 banger, but personaly and this is for many buyers, if this car has 2 power modes and you feel like it has and it has not got power you will think that the car is not good and probly switch to a BMW M3.
Even tho I think that the M3 and M4 come at 200kg too much on the scales, they have a 6 cilinder engine and offer so much performance and confort and they are the best car out there overall. And if you want to experience V8 you can go towards the M5/M8 that I have not seen many examples, but plenty of them are out there and compared to the C63, I have seen much more M2, M3, M4, M5 and M8 individuali. I have experienced an older M4 and I loved it. I have experienced an older M5 V10 and loved it.
The problem is not the 4 banger, it is the weight and fact that this is a heavy luxury saloon that has a 4 cylinder and a hybrid sistem that makes it kinda souless and this is why it flops
Mercedes have ruined the C43 and C63. This is so sad.

ОтветитьIt's clear that this is all about cost cutting. It's not a proper C63 because in the past, they had their engines lifted from the likes of the E63 and S63, not A45..a bloody A Class!!!! AMG's are supposed to be muscle cars doing donuts and tyre burning just like the ones of the past. The V8 needs to return.

ОтветитьSo what are the best options for drivers in the new range who hate the look of a 4 door car and start yawning at the site of it whatever the engine power it may possess? A true C63 is a 2 door coup and smaller in size. I just cant appreciate how long and boring it looks with 4 doors.
