I'm Romanian. In 1989 there wasn't a big difference between Romania and North Korea. Now, 2023, the countries have almost nothing in common. I could not imagine living in a 2023 communist Romania. I am very sorry for all those Korean people, simple people like you and me who go through this hell every day.

Root cause of North Korean misery is American military forces still in South Korea.

What is the purpose of American military presence in South Korea; when the USSR has already been dismantled in 1991 and China borders 14 different countries including North Korea ?

China and Russia would prefer a buffer state; I suppose.

The USA already have forces in Japan, Philippines anyway. The USA wants to circumference China and Russia with their military forces. I would say; that is the reason for American forces in South Korea.

And, what is the purpose of the USA being technically at war against North Korea still now? Why they are interested to make this war chronic rather than making a permanent halt ? The strategy of Armistice for a long run makes no sense; if North Korean misery and Nuclear threat from Korea are to be permanently solved.

The realpolitik political philosophy ; promoted by Henry Kissinger perhaps needs to be amended. The USA can not always use cowboy diplomacy. They need to start using real diplomacy; as not all nations can be bombed like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya among others.

That was the whole reason; North Korea has Nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles could reach upto heartland of the USA. What's next ; South Korea, Japan getting nuclear weapons ?

North Korea is cash deprived country and if they start selling their formula and actual nuclear bombs via smuggling to rogued nations; terrorists organizations and so on; then who will take final responsibility?

On the other hand; the USA have their share of misery as well ; when bible belt , deep south and state like Oklahoma is full of racism and discrimination.

Actually just FYI no parent after 2020 will ever stay home and have their child learn differently just cuz of their morals. This video is very informative regarding China and North Korea. However, socio-economy being the main subject of this conversation, we hear a lot of attributes associated to Capitalism or Marxism and/or Communism that are not well understood. The system is at fault and when it is not, people in it can be at fault. I suggest reading the following book (or audiobook) The New Human Rights by Peter Joseph and also learn about the Resource Based Economy (see The Venus Project). Inviting Peter Joseph from The Zeitgeist Movement and separately Roxanne Meadows from The Venus Project would be very interesting and would make you rethink society, economy and the management of our resources.
