Literally the easiest character to recruit in the game. You get him for free as female byleth and you get him really easily by going into a magic build as male byleth.

Honestly something that would have been a cool ass storyline is if Sylvain stayed mostly the same HOWEVER was exclusively gay, like only would have s rank with MByleth, as sort of a "oh dang I chase after all these women, turns out im running from the fact im only into men!"

Honestly, I always have a feeling that Sylvain is bisexual. I mean, some of his Supports have hints for that (such as his support with Flayn, and of course, with Felix). Also, in the Fire Emblem Three Hopes, Sylvain and Yuri have support conversations together. And Yuri, as a bisexual king, said some pick-up line to Sylvain (aka, flirting), and Sylvain replied something like: "Hey, is it strange that I'm into it?". So yeah, the hints are there, and an S support between MaleByleth and Sylvain is possible. Oh gosh, how I wish for that to happen, but unfortunately, it won't. :(

I love that Sylvain joins your house immediately if you’re f!Byleth, I always invited him as soon as I got the option to. It’s funny bc I thought he was meant to be an easy student to recruit into your house bc I joined black eagles first and when the feature was revealed I asked everyone and got declined but was confused when I immediately got Sylvain, I mean I did know about the type of character he was but I didn’t really think it would be that easy for him to ditch his childhood friends, but alas I was wrong.

It’s funny bc I remembered his personality and immediately regretted my decision to recruit him thinking I’d hate him but tbh after getting to know him through his supports he’s just really defensive and has his guard up due to trauma, though it’s annoying that it’s misogyny that he turned to instead post time skip he seems to have improved himself and is just a flirt /womaniser and not just a straight up misogynist. I still love him and he was my first S support (originally I was going to go with Edelgard lmao, somehow the fuckboi won me over xD). Weirdly enough I relate to his character/trauma, what with his sibling trying to kill him :’)

I still hate how the only two male bi characters you actually enter a romantic relationship with are Yuri and Jeritza, both of whom are DLC. Lyn is disqualified cause you pull a chrom and fuck some random woman, and Alois and Gilbert are completely platonic, meanwhile, Dorthy, Edel, and Mercie all can enter any kind of romantic relationship, sometimes not even with the player, including Petra, who you can't marry with Female byleth...fucking stupid, especially considering how so many of these boys clearly harbor specifically "more than friends or family" feelings for you, yet virtually all of them can't be romanced.
Edit: and yes, I'm aware that most people don't mind seeing woman together, my point is that they should've shifted the dialog so Sylvain doesn't basically imply he'd throw his entire lineage into the dumpster to be with you as a guy, especially since he says it awkwardly, and how he's never felt like that before. And don't even get me started on Dimi and Claude.
