ОтветитьMy employer doesn't respect me, and that's why I'm leaving the workplace. I'm applying to a bakery in downtown. I'll probably be better off there than with the woman who, no wonder, works so many wedding receptions.

ОтветитьThank you for this video. Very clear and concise. They don’t teach teachers about how to delegate or manage employees in a classroom. I teach in NYC in special education, in a small class. The school is in a low socio economic urban area.
I love the children and the job, and my other colleagues, but 1 staff member in my class is very rude and disrespectful towards me.
I want to learn how to be firm so no one walks all over me, I need to manage the team better, and use better boundaries, many of the ppl who come to work in schools are not trained, and they don’t train teachers on how to train staff - so thank you again for this video!

ОтветитьIf someone dosent respect you…then you can’t possibly change anything to make them change that attitude. Leaving is the best option. Second best is planing to leave that whole toxic situation.

ОтветитьOr your employees are in actual fact very lazy and disrespectful because they have very little maturity and have the mindset that they deserve more than they have earned. I cannot tell you how many employees I have/had that did everything they knew they were not supposed to simply because they have no respect for rules. In fact I have had employees disrespect me simply because I'm white

ОтветитьThere may be a point in time when your employees never respect you but that’s not your issue manager should focus on being consistent ethical and available that’s it.
ОтветитьAl the disrespect from the employee is going to get worse because the employer's disrespect the employees they don't pay them enough money they make them mandatory overtime there's a lack of pensions a lack of vacation time a lot of medical benefits employers do not care about their workers they don't care and the only way to make them care is UNIONIZE that's what you got to do.!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThe lack of unions in this country is what is the destroyed the workplace and employers are taking advantage of employees by mistreating them by the lack of pay like say they do not use the bureau of labor standards to to pay employees electronic technicians for instance should be getting about 65,000 a year and a very few places to employers pay that much only not only that there's a lack of pensions or lack of healthcare or lack of vacation time mandatory overtime and if there was unions none of this would exist they would get respect and these employees would get respect by the by the union for the Union employees have got to start thinking reunionized or it's going to are you ever going to be able to survive the workplace.
ОтветитьI feel like the only reason is because of discrimination. I worked for stocking and was pretty fast but the new employees always win and get the more easy pay and just get to lay back more.

I’ve worked in places where managers allow subordinates autonomy and in return those employees slack off and take advantage of not being supervised. I have also witnessed managers run a tight ship , micro manage, and instill fear if employees don’t produce. This tactic works best in a retail environment supervising youngsters.

ОтветитьI always hated bosses that give you unrealistical expectations. Like, its easy to tell someone to do something. Now that I'm a manager I show that I can take the lead and prove that it's realistically possible.
ОтветитьI’m a female supervisor who’s has nothing but a team of males under me. I’m white and most of them I’ve had issues with are black. I was promoted over a few that got jealous and tried all kinds of tactics to sabotage my promotion. Some of these guys I was what I thought friends with but the moment I got promoted they turned on me. On top of this a bunch of them are trashy people, lazy , disrespectful that just don’t do their job. I don’t think this video applies to me.

ОтветитьMy question is serious: What do you do if your employees assigned to you are just lazy, arrogant, incompetent, POS and do not respond to any of these suggestions?
ОтветитьI don’t like to micromanage but sometimes my Director is managing me with fear tactic ands forcing me to get updates from my people.
Technically they advise to manage up but my Director makes me feel like I am not monitoring my people if I don’t get the updates.

ОтветитьIt's hard being a captain at mod pizza. The companies pro people business model is gonna drive it out of business. Everytime I do my job and task a squad members with something they get pissy and do the job slow or not at all and the company basically allows it in the name of "acceptance". Being short staffed on top does not make things easier

People simply respect the manager who knows what he is talking about (I know I do)
People will never respect managers who became one by wearing nice suites, looking nice, bullshitting, “relational skills” a nice expression for bullshitting.
