Can the NEX 6 user just buy a charger separately ? Is there any ?

As owner of a sony nex-F3, I can say that this camera(NEX6) which is basically the same camera, works like a charm and one of the best for its price and performance.

Hi! I`m going to New york in september this year! It will be my first time going to the us. I\m thinking about buying this camera, and was wondering what kind of microphone i can use on the hot shoot? Any other than the sony xlr-k1m that i can use? Thanks for an informative video.

Is a Sony 1x 1/2.88 sensor going to have significantly better shallow depth of field over a 1x 1/3.91 sensor?

In theory the larger the sensor, the more shallow the depth of field will be. I would not describe a 1x 1/2.88 sensor being significantly larger than a 1x 1/3.91 sensor so how much the DOF will differ between the two, I cannot say. C h u c k askbh{at}bandh{dot}com

I purchased this camera last month. It's really good camera. one thing i still don't understand is what's the DRO mode does, and is it recommended even when i'm shooting in RAW ? Also does the Noise Reduction scene mode delivers good results from your testing or is it better to buy a tripod for it instead ?

Pressing the 'Fn' button gives you quick access to six shooting parameters. Of interest to you is AF/MF (Auto Focus/Manual Focus/Direct Manual Focus [DMF] ) select. Try using a class 10 SD card

I've just watched the review of the NEX 6 on TheDigitalDigest channel and he stated that you can run the battery dry (approx. 90 mins of video) and not have it overheat, which, according to him is a big improvement.

nex 6 or fuji x-e1?

Both cameras are excellent choices to consider. The main specifications of the two are very similar. With the Sony you have a slightly larger lens selection base to choose from and currently it?s priced lower than the Fuji. The Sony also has a much faster burst rate for shooting continuous still photos (10 frames per second vs 3fps in the Fuji). - Yossi

If anyone is having problems with their NEX screen there's a new Facebook page dedicated to this issue 'Sony NEX My Screen is Faulty: Delaminates'. Its hoping to generate some numbers and hope that it spurs Sony into action and admit it's a manufacturing fault...

What is better? Sony NEX-6 or Nikon 1 AW1?

The only thing that would make this better is if it could do 8 megapixel video (4k video) at 60p. It has a 16 megapixel sensor. I'd like to see an affordable APC-C by sony that does 8 megapixel 60p (4k video).

I currently have a Nikon DSLR but would like something more compact, but still takes quality photos. I am looking at the SONY NEX-6 and the SONY A5000 and having a hard time deciding which to go with. I'm leaning towards the Sony A5000 due to price considering I already have a DSLR that has the features and more that the NEX-6. Which is a better buy?

The Sony NEX 6 was the first mirroless with phase detection autofocus system. Of course this phase detection is very inferior to optical dSLR phase detection but superior to traditional contrast detection.
Not all Sony e mount lenses are compatible with hybrid phase detection like the pancake SEL16F28.
It similar optical to the great Sony NEX 7 but not equally good.
