There'd be less work for your turrets to do and your defenses would be less reliant on electrivity if you softened the mechanoids up first by filling the winding passage with uranium spike traps... but I guess re-arming those comes with a not-insignificant chance of a pawn tripping and stabbing themself. Unless you have somebody with the Agile trait do it.

ОтветитьHey, I'm doing a kind of roleplay run I think you might be interested in doing a similar version of. I have a tribe of 5 pawns to start, four female one male. And and ideoligion that allows men to marry up to four women. My idea was to have the patriarch father four separate bloodlines. None of the starting colonists had surnames, but their children would all have surnames derived from their mother's name. I am going to build four separate forts on the map separate from the starting colony built by the original five founders and each lineage will occupy its own part of the map and administer to their own defensive and production-based needs. Each will also have a distinct focus; one lineage will prioritize weapons production, one will prioritize farming, one textiles, and one will take charge of the unified defense of the entire multi-fort complex. So far the next generation is still in their childhood phase, but I'm excited to build distinctive fortresses inside their mountain. (It's a lone mountain with a river running through it from the geological landforms mod.)
Anyway, I'd be interested to see you try a similar long-term colony.

Also if you had Rimatomics you could have placed a nuclear warhead in the chem storage or a central place in the mountain home. Then manually detonated it. IIRC a pawn is not required to set off the warhead, you can just click on it and set the timer. Basically just pull a SCP Foundation protocol for when the situation gets out of hand, activate the on-site nuclear warhead and kill everyone inside; i think the warhead by itself unattached to an ICBM has a blast range of about 30+ tiles and makes the area radioactive.

ОтветитьI'm a bit late, but a psychicly deaf pawn can become a mechanor, all you need to do is equipt something on them that increases psychic sensitivity, once you install the mechanist chip you can get rid of it, your still a mechanist
