Going from an i5 10400 rtx 3060 to a r7 7800x3D rtx 4070. Expecting to be blown away.
ОтветитьThank you for this i'm just ordered my 7800X3D for my new rig. Stepping up from my old 3gen i5 so it's going to be a nice bump im sure.
ОтветитьIm a little late to this, I have a 4090 paired with a 10850k on 3440x1440. Am I bottlenecking myself here? I was planning on upgrading to this cpu... i should mention I do light graphic design on the side but mostly only game on the PC
ОтветитьSomething no one ever talks about is the chipset differences between AMD and Intel. Intel has a much more stable and mature chipset. Try using an AMD board with all the expansion filled and see what happens.
ОтветитьGreat review! Bought this one last week on a good sale and someone gave me a decent price on my 5800X3D so it was not really a stretch. Now I am set for a few years for sure.
ОтветитьMadness he says! We love mad science!
ОтветитьYou can pair a Ryzen 7000 cpu with 8000Mhz DDR5 now. A little fussy getting it set up but man does it reduce latency.
ОтветитьHow do I know if I need more cores?
ОтветитьIn the resolution comparing pic, is a ryzen 9 7800x3D listet. This CPU doesn`t exist.
Ответитьthe 7000 series AMD was in my opinion a rushed product and failed dramatically with the Heatsink and high temperatures...I am an AMD fan and I am going to skip 7000 series. I use my 3900x all core clock 4.4 GHz @1.2985V stable and tested with Prime95. I am hesitant to upgrade even to 5900X or 5950X but will most likely do that when the prices drop more. I am pretty sure I was lucky on the Silicone Lottery and was also in the past. I gamed with an FX-8350 until 2019 without problems or FPS issues. Of course I didn't get super high FPS but I never had stuttering or other problems. I was running 4.7 GHz at 1.325 V and temperatures up to 65C. I also got that CPU running stable at 5.1 GHz at 1.5V but the temps were so high and didn't want to fry it. The funny thing is that I couldn't get to go to 4.725GHz or more even with more voltage. The 5.1 GHz worked but nothing in between. I am assuming that it had to do with the RAM BUS but I left it there. It still works perfectly and I use it as server. With Intel, my possibilities were always limited. And don't get me wrong, I have had Intel CPU's too in the past and was happy with them too. I hope AMD doesn't rush another half good product.
ОтветитьI like playing around with virtual machines would it be better to get the one with more cache or more cores
ОтветитьIn terms of thermals vs the equivalent intel setup?
ОтветитьThere is a major error in this video, you put "Ryzen 9 7800X3D" instead of "Ryzen 7 7800X3D".
ОтветитьThe best thing about the 7800x3D and 7950x3D was it lowered the price for the real gem, the 7950x. When it did I lunged for those unadultered symetrical 16 cores. It's got 2x more power to play the most intensive game I want to play. In BF2042 it runs at 50% on 16 threads. The big disappointment is DDR5.. when you populate all 4 slots, the speed drops down to 3600. So, yeah, what's the point of DDR5 then. There is no point. My DDR3 ran at 3600...
ОтветитьI have a 5800x oc to 4.95ghz..clubbed with rtx 3080ti will i need to go for ddr5 platform or 5800x is good..i only play games on 4k...so at 4k 5800x is it fine...and will 4080 be bottlenecked by 5800x at 4k..
ОтветитьI just got my 7800x3d for emulation
ОтветитьAmd has eypc chips with vcache like the 7800x3d and some witj a mix lile the 7950x3d. By making bjth styles available for the consumer i think itll help devs learn how to use everything best at an affordable cost
ОтветитьThis cpu really runs just as well on a b650 mortar as a top end x670 build?
Ответить5800x3d is an anomaly, like the gtx 1080ti back in 2017
Ответитьso.much.Vcache
ОтветитьUnfortunately, AM5 are far too expensive for the 20% more power. You pay 500 - 800€ more for 15-30 FPS and on 1440p and 4K there is no big difference... Long boot times, melted V cache and damaged mainboards and Memory problems speak against AM5 buy 5800x3D
Ответитьshame you didn't benchmark MSFS2020 which is often CPU bond and tends to only use 1 core
ОтветитьDo you think my Noctua NH-U12A would be enough to cool it ? I'm not going to overclock it and I'll keep it stock.
ОтветитьHi Wendell, Do you recommend Ryzen 9 7800 for best desktop performance. Is it better than the I9/I7 Intel? Which motherboard would you put with it?
Ответитьi have a 5900x with 4090 , would the 5800x3d be an upgrade or go with 7800x3d ?? i dont know much about pc's as such so a bit of help would be appreciated . many thanks
Ответитьgot 7900x would switching to the 7800x3d improve 4k gaming at all? and reduce temps
ОтветитьHoping to get a 5800x3d in the future when they start hitting the used market. Im a bottom feeder when it comes to upgrades ;) Just now getting into the AM4.
ОтветитьLove that you mentioned Factorio and Stellaris. Those are the types of games (and the specific ones) I'm most worried about when CPU shopping
ОтветитьNobody out there is testing these cpu's in VR....
Ответитьwhat i always ask me how much phases (VRM) do you need on motherboard? i never overcloack just undervolt. would 12+1 be enough? some have 9+1 or so ...anybody can answer that?
ОтветитьLookin' good... can they make one with 16 cores and insane amounts of cache? Just askin' for a friend. ;P
Ответить13900k still better.
ОтветитьCan you explain what "1% lows" and "0.1% lows" means on your charts?
ОтветитьWhat about the stories I'm hearing about this processor burning up? Has that issue been resolved?
ОтветитьI think 1440p and 2160p high settings benchmarks are vital for making the decision that benchmark videos are supposed to help with. The 1080p medium charts are helpful that they drag out the smallest differences. But those differences get so slim when you bump up the settings and resolution with your brand new graphics card that you start feeling buyer's remorse.
So, I'm really thankful for the 2160p benchmarks.
I'm so, so, so grateful for the 2160p high results being included. 5800X3D looking so good in real world scenario; you don't even have to replace everything else.
If planning for a new system though, I feel like leaning towards intel after having my R53600 build since launch since AMD has been a hassle with ram timings and bios revisions, for (me) someone not too handsy at dealing with this stuff.
Savings with a 5800X 3D are really lucrative though :/
Anyone currently on the CPU market, (and not to keen about motherboard troubleshooting like me) facing the same conundrum please weigh in and help me :)
Will Ryzen 7 7800X3D bottleneck Rx7900XTX at 1440p ?
ОтветитьI’ll settle with a 7950x for now as I like my workstation performance.
Hopefully 9950x3d is insane
can i VR with it?
Ответитьi got a 5950x for 300, perfect for Gaming, Streaming, editing,Vms and power usage is decent.
Only upgrade now. if your on older ryzen like 2600. if your a gamer
I have a 7600x. Its all you need for gaming right now and you can probably upgrade to later 3dvcache CPUs If needed.
ОтветитьI've got a nice 5900x system, but I'm tempted to stick a 5800X3D in there just to have a basically maxed out AM4 gaming build...
Ответитьis the 13600K also good ? i have this.
ОтветитьThe other thing to note here, is the 7800x3D is (in my experience) very easily overclockable. You really don't need a ton of cooling either, as it's insanely efficient. The one I tested was very happy and stable at 5.3Ghz (5.1ghz all core under heavy load), 2100 IF, and 6400MT DDR5... with minimal BIOS tinkering, and a tiny bump to VCore, 1.35V on memory, and 1.28v SOC.
ОтветитьWhat was the test bench for the 5800x3d? What memory used?
Ответитьmy 7700x and 4080 do just fine in 4k 120Hz gaming. but it is a great gaming cpu.
ОтветитьCool that you mentioned Factorio. :D
